  1. Not taking this literally yet of course still over a week away, but if this were to come off, I could see a few problems. Very closely packed Isobars up there. Doesn't look like any other model is seeing this though.
  2. Well then, January is finally over. 81.6mm of rain for the month here, which is 12% above average. Max temp recorded was 13.5C, and the min temp recorded was -4.6. Average temperatures for the month only slightly below the norm at 4.1C, probably due to the fact that before and after the cold spell we had very mild weather. max gust speed was 40.3mph, and highest 1 min sustained speeds were 24mph. 6.6C here currently, looking forward to what's to come with possibly some colder weather again soon!
  3. Here's an article on it - http://news.sky.com/...-on-south-coast Current temps are around 8C here. Slightly disappointed that tomorrows event was downgraded so heavily.
  4. Some copious amounts of rainfall currently being forecast for Friday. Not exactly what we need. Temps got to 12.2C here, and in the sun has felt quite pleasant.
  5. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=382725538489262&set=vb.102814153147070&type=2&theater <- Ians forecast. Still 12.8C here, no rain as of yet.
  6. Could be an interesting one for sure, any with the saturation of the ground currently, trees will be more susceptible to uprooting in high winds, not to mention that rivers can't take much more. I'm not saying I wouldn't look forward to this if it payed off, I'm just hoping that everyone stays safe. 13.2C here currently. I'd almost forgotten what it feels like to go outside in nothing but a T-Shirt!
  7. It will indeed be interesting to see Ian's take on this possibility tonight on Points West. He did say yesterday on his forecast that there is a possibility that on Friday there will be an area of Low Pressure that is much more developed than what the graphic was showing, but I guess that it's the uncertainty that is stopping the forecasters saying much about it yet. Incase anyone missed it, you can see it here - http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=382150148546801&set=vb.102814153147070&type=2&theater Currently 12.4C here. Warmest it's been since mid December!
  8. 11.2C here currently. Only 9:40AM and this is the warmest It's been all month. Hopefully there won't be too much rain for the areas already saturated.
  9. That is stange.. I've just noticed that happened here. 8C before the hail shower, now only 4.5C! Too bad it wasn't snow..
  10. Just had a freak hail storm here. Hailstones only the size of peas, but there were a few bigger ones dotted in there! Ground turned completely white again for a few minutes! 14.2mm of rain today alone.
  11. Not sure if this has been posted yet, but incase anyone hasn't seen this, I would take a look at it. http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/features/21220996 This forecast sums up the week quite well, and even mentions that it may get colder into next weekend? Around 7C here, and the ground is very saturated from the rain last night. Fields in the area look like duck ponds again.
  12. Sounds very scary. Hope you are both okay! No thunder in this part of Swindon, but maybe out time's soon.
  13. Torrential rain pouring down here, though it looks like the squall is going to miss us. Current temp 3.8C
  14. I spat out my tea when I saw the ECM had a 923mb low not too far away from us. It looks like it will be very wet for us in the next few days, so stay safe all! Most of the snow and ice is gone, and temps are at around 4C. Very big difference in the feel of things. Around 40mms so far this month, but that looks likely to change in the coming days.
  15. Pouring down here, about 8mm's so far. Ground is still soaking from the sodden year we had last year! Still some ice on the pavements that looks stubborn to clear. Temp currently 2.7C
  16. Max temp today was 1.6C, and tomorrow is going to be the last cold day. Only around 30mms of rain this month, bu I'm sure that that will change over the weekend.
  17. Snow is melting fast here today, even thought the max temp was 0.6C. Looks like we have a few more days of this, and then some lovely rain to follow.
  18. 0.4C here now. The snow seems to be coming in bursts. One minute it is very heavy, the next it isn't. Hopefully that temp will drop below zero soon so it will all settle! Ians forecast for anyone who missed it - http://www.facebook....&type=2
  19. Very, VERY heavy snow here! Aboutv half an inch has come down in about 10 minutes!
  20. The heavy stuff isn't meant to get here for a couple of hours yet. Hopefully by then, it will be close to or below freezing. Huge change on the forecast for here. Now 6 hours of heavy snow with snow all days tomorrow!
  21. Settling on some surfaces here in swindon, though temps are a little too high for it to settle on the wet ground.
  22. What an upgrade for Swindon! This morning was saying about 4 hours of snow, and now we're in for about 12, with some of it being heavy!
  23. So, I see that it has shifted further west. not much in it for people i our area unless it changes, but who am I to complain. We already got our load of snow. Current temp -1.4C
