I've also noticed on the Forcase assessment it's moved into the highest column for impact. 30mm predicted for here overnight and tomorrow. We're in for a wet weekend, stay safe everybody.
Just because it isn't a system associated with making thunderstorms doesn't mean it isn't a trouble maker. The ground is saturated, so all rain runs straight into the rivers, making them rise rapidly, hence all of the warnings out.
Just had to walk home, and it ws torrential in Swindon. 12mm so far, most in the last 45 mins alone. There has also been a 20mb pressure drop in the last 10 hours!
Extremely cold today! Maximum temperature was -0.3C, the tempertures have stayed below freezing all day, most likely because of the thick layer of fog. Min temp -5.9C at 8AM this morning. Very cold indeed.
Nice to hear about the Undercut that might see Swindon some snow. Only a few flakes this winter, so I'm willing to take anything!
-2.5C oustide already and falling.
It looks like some areas may not see temperatures rise above freezing on Tuesday and Wednesday. Very bitter, with a High of 1C forcast here on Tuesday.
The Models are making it look very cold for next week. Hopefully we can get some snow.
Haven't had much snow here since 2010, when we had a load of it.

Sky news knows how to make a good story eh?
Atleast this drier colder spell will give the high river levels and saturated ground some time to recover.
I think the Midlands might be under a higher warning that what it was under. GFS shows a large part of the midlands getting 40+mm of rain into the early hours.
I was also thinking that. I know the warning was due to expire at midnight (I think) but with the rapidly increasing number of Severe/Flood Warnings they can't honestly believe this isn't sufficient of atleast an Amber Warning still.
Very drizzly here in Swindon, and has been for the last 2 hours. Only just over 2mm so far, but the heaviest rain isn't expected to hit us until later on this evening.
