Back to rain in Cardiff. Slow thaw beginning too although it’s going to take a while, particularly for the deep drifts. Temp up to almost 2c now.

It’s an occluded front that is going to move back northwards and intensify. Precip will kind of come from nowhere if that makes sense, will just start intensifying. sorry Fujitascale, didn’t see you already posted that.

Heavy snow on GFS later for Pembrokeshire and the South east/east again later. Mid afternoon onwards. models showing different things. Hirlam gives widespread snow for everyone. Pretty heavy snow showers now in south east too.

Incredible here now. I have said it so many times but heaviest today! Historic. I’m in Cathays right now and their are waist level drifts in places. We are around 1.5/2 miles from the coast.

Honestly WOW. Everyone in Cardiff area, 20 minutes look outside. It’s going to be incredible. Just walked from pub, snow now ankle height with drifts of one and two feet.

I know it’s been a disappointment for some. but I can’t stress how bad it is in Cardiff city centre now. Not exaggerating, if that red band hits, we could be talking historic.

Pembrokeshire getting hammered right now!! Drifting snow right on the coast. Potential for that red bit on radar to come into south east Wales and Cardiff soon.

Here comes the real heavy precipitation!! But also the milder air! a historic event here in Cardiff, really quite severe (or great) heavy precipitation also in Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire now. Looks quite severe down there too. Unfortunate boundary of light in between these.

This is a more accurate radar ignoring some of the noise and just flurries on the other radars. Shows a more true reflection and you can see that a lot of areas missing out still. but just look to our south, that’s what coming. Was only supposed to be light snow until 7/8pm. We have just been so lucky in cardiff

It’s a lot worse in Cardiff clearly but most cars not covered here either. It’s powder snow with 50mph winds it will just blow about and off cars and roofs. That’s what happens in the blizzards. regarding the snow, nowhere near the heavy stuff yet. Not supposed to be the heavy stuff until between 8pm and 11pm. Give it time....

One side of the road clear the other a good covering with the snow blowing over that side. Proper drifting later if it does snow heavy
