  1. GEM looks interesting for our region Thursday. Reminds me a little of early February 2019. But as it’s the GEM model won’t take it seriously.
  2. Oh my, just popped into the MOD thread and the excitement in there following the latest ECM run. Let’s hope it doesn’t end in tears come tomorrow morning as it so often has done in the past.
  3. A sunny mildish start here, cloud mid morning and now sun coming back out again in time for me afternoon walk. Things have dried out sufficiently that I won’t need my wellies now. If you told me that this time last week I wouldn’t have believed you such was the ground so muddy and saturated after weeks of rain. Got the lawn cut (sorry Beka) almost for the last time this year before the frost sets in tonight.
  4. Cautiously optimistic that we will see some sunshine today. Last few days have been very dull with it getting dark very early because of the thick layer of cloud. Whilst I'm no fan of cloudy days like we've just had, I'm just glad it's stopped raining so I can get out and walk.
  5. I usually scroll through to read the posts from those who pretty much know what they are talking about. Anyway, back to the here and now with today turning into a rinse and repeat of yesterday. Very dull which is affecting the temperature. Only the very briefest of glimpses of the sun around mid morning.
  6. I know what you mean. You just can't resist a little peak in there every now and then. It's just being careful not to get sucked in.
  7. Yup it's that time of year again. Chasing after that elusive slice of cold. Why people put themselves through the torture every Autumn/winter, I will never know. Really feel for the mods on this forum. It's like being in charge of a creche sometimes. Though that might be insulting to toddlers saying that.
  8. It's dry, and after the past goodness knows how many weeks of rain that's something. Sun trying to break through here.
  9. I think we can call that a hat trick for the forecast models. Now the rain has cleared, looking like a very useable day.
  10. Exactly. Sun is out here now and I will be able to go for my afternoon walk after all. This time yesterday it looked like the rain was in for the day and heavy at that. Never got beyond moderately heavy. Not been a great week for the forecast models. Makes you wonder if Saturday will be half as bad as it looked a couple of days ago.
  11. An absolute soaker here on the Dorset coast this morning. The Weymouth donkeys won't be making an appearance on the beach today.
  12. Pretty steady rain with a few rumbles coming from the channel here on the Dorset coast this lunchtime. Me thinks we might see a bit of thundery action here soon looking at the radar.
  13. No, you are absolutely right, overnight imports from France were quite common back then and they were some absolute corkers. Just doesn't happen these days.
  14. I've seen that happen a few times before. Glad they have removed it rather than leave it despite it being completely obvious nothing is going to happen which we have seen of late with these yellow warnings for T'storms
  15. I’m a big fan of the Met Office, but these thunderstorm warnings have got beyond a joke now and have been ever since they started issuing them a few years back. The problem is the media get hold of these yellow warnings and make it sound like Armageddon is coming to produce click bait. Hardly the Met Office’s fault you may say, but they keep feeding the beast with all these warnings for what is essentially British weather.
  16. Awww don’t snigger at the donkeys Beka, they’re lovely animals, even though one of them decided to eat Dorset’s arm! I love seeing the donkeys on Weymouth beach and admit to being slightly jealous of Dorset visiting the donkey sanctuary at Sidmouth. Looking like another lovely day weatherwise. Enjoy it whilst we have it.
