  1. Yeah, nice of the sun to drop by just as it’s setting. Looking like an absolute cloud fest for the next few days at least.
  2. Been miserable here with steady drizzle all morning. A few glimpses of sun earlier part of the morning. Rain looks to be breaking up now, so hopeful of a better afternoon to get out for a walk. Mild 12c
  3. A very dull day here. Not even a glimpse of the sun today, but based on the forecast wasn’t expecting to. Still, good for an afternoon walk before settling down to watch the rugby. High of 10c. Hope you’ll be able to find your fingerprint Mapantz.
  4. Another cloudy day with only brief occasional glimpses of the sun. Mild though 11c. Next week looking more promising to see more sunshine with colder nights. Loving the dry weather though. Finally been able to put my wellies away and get the walking boots back out.
  5. Same spot as where I took the pic yesterday. Managed to get out of the fog lower down but as you can see no view today.
  6. Absolutely stunning day today. Was great to be out and about. Complete contrast to the awful dross we had mid December to mid January.
  7. Looking like mainly rain and sleet if the Neatweather radar is to be believed. If that's the case, it can jolly well stay away.
  8. That’s the problem isn’t it. I’ve watched a band of pretty heavy snow heading straight for our area have the life sucked out of it by the Welsh mountains leaving us with just a snow flurry by the time it gets here.
  9. Met Office have responded with a warning for ice across the whole of Southern England: UK weather warnings WWW.METOFFICE.GOV.UK Met Office UK weather warnings for rain, snow, wind, fog and ice. Choose your location to keep up to date with local weather warnings.
  10. There is one for tonight but it only covers Cornwall and part of Devon. I think with all the rain last night over most of the region only drying out in places, a case could be made for that warning to cover a larger part of our region. UK weather warnings WWW.METOFFICE.GOV.UK Met Office UK weather warnings for rain, snow, wind, fog and ice. Choose your location to keep up to date with local weather warnings.
  11. Judging just by the 14 line issues listed on South Western Railway's website this morning, I do wonder if a yellow warning for last night's rain covering Dorset and Hampshire should have been issued yesterday. 12. First half of the night cold rain. What a waste, but we weren’t expecting anything wintery from last nights weather system. I think those in the south east under the yellow warning for snow will be disappointed, though it was the lowest level of warning. And a total bust for tonight/tomorrow. At least it’s going to be dry and after the past month’s rain fest that is more than welcome.
  13. Interesting indeed. Worth keeping an on. Wasn’t it ECM mid last week that was showing the possibility on something for our region Monday night into Tuesday?
  14. Totally agree. You never need to wish for rain in this country, it will always come eventually. Climate change or not, there will always be something right next to us that will provide it; it’s called the Atlantic. At least it looks like we’ve got a few dry days coming up next week. Whether we’ll see snow, I’m not sure. Wasn’t expecting what we saw early December In Westbury and Warminster. Can’t see that scenario happening next week because the ground was frozen solid so the snow pitched straight away.
  15. I think the weather may get a mention on our local news programs tonight: Heavy rain causes roads to flood and GWR rail disruption https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-somerset-64246734
  16. The amount of rain falling on top of what we’ve seen in our region this past month. Today’s Met office warning adjusted to reflect the amount of rain over the next day or so.
  17. It does indeed look potentially interesting next week. A lot of water to pass under and possibly over the bridge between now and then. Tomorrow and Thursday look somewhat concerning, especially after all the rain we’ve had these past few weeks. That cold snap early mid December is such a distant memory now.
  18. I was on the other side of it. No rain, handful of flashes and bangs with the moon out as well.
  19. A rinse and repeat scenario from last night down here. Activity to the Southwest of Portland. Fizzled out by the time it got to the coast. Will that happen again tonight?
