  1. Met Office have just issued an Amber warning for wind in parts of our region: UK weather warnings WWW.METOFFICE.GOV.UK Met Office UK weather warnings for rain, snow, wind, fog and ice. Choose your location to keep up to date with local weather warnings.
  2. Been a usable day today. Little sunshine, but dry to get all the washing done and on the line. Now a case of batten down the hatches for tomorrow’s fun and games.
  3. So something finally came to life right at the end of the day then. Quite a pleasant evening now after this afternoon’s deluge.
  4. Something tells me we won’t be seeing any as won’t the area that was covered by the Met Office yellow warning for Thunderstorms. The rain that fell was at times very heavy here this afternoon but that looks to be about as far as it goes.
  5. It’s like a monsoon out there, absolutely throwing it down. I won’t need wellies for my walk tomorrow afternoon, but a rowing boat at this rate.
  6. I certainly is. If you are outside you are going to get soaked. No sign of any t-storm activity yet but I think that’s to come later.
  7. My afternoon walking route is now a big muddy mess just like it would be in the middle of a wet Autumn/Winter. I should have worn my wellies this afternoon it was that bad. I wouldn’t have looked out of place as the weather is so like Autumn at the moment.
  8. Oh no Andy! I certainly wasn't expecting a repeat of yesterday, nor was expecting any storms. Rain first thing with an improvement later in the day was the expectation. Really didn't turn out that way. Felt for all those who had made the trip to Weymouth only for the weather to be absolute pants. Yes, conditions on the roads earlier were horrendous.
  9. We’ve had a lot more rain and gloomy weather than I was expecting today. In fact, the forecasted main rain band earlier in the day hardly produced any note worthy rain. It’s all been during this afternoon.
  10. Don’t I know it. Drove back from Weymouth exactly the time this cell hit the coast. Horrendous driving conditions. Not surprised there were a couple of claps of thunder mixed in. Not that I’d have noticed, could hardly see where I was going. @Mapantz Yes, it has been a grotty day down here. Last saw the sun around 6.30am this morning!
  11. Looking at the latest radar and chat in the storms thread, I don’t think we’re missing much. There was a lot more happening this time last weekend. All happened/happening the other side of the channel. Paris in the firing line for a pretty firey storm.
  12. I can’t see where this rain is meant to be coming from either. I expect the warning will magically disappear overnight. The closest I’ve come to heavy rain and thunderstorms this weekend was watching it earlier on Big Jet TV at Heathrow!
  13. The aliens have arrived in Dorset this evening! On a more serious note, I know there is a more technical term for this type of cloud formation and why they form?
  14. Absolutely awful out there right now. Bar yesterday, another poor bank holiday weekend as this very poor spring continues.
  15. Absolutely awful here on the coast, though it appears to be moving at a reasonable pace. Need to go into Weymouth, so am holding off a bit until the rain eases.
  16. We just can’t seem to string together more than a couple of days of decent weather at the moment. Tomorrow looks pretty good after a grey start. As for next weekend…
  17. Don’t want to depress you even more Beka, but that area of rain over Hampshire, part of Dorset and into Wiltshire is about the only rain in the entire UK! I was wondering why it was getting dark here.
  18. Couldn’t agree more. One of the best April’s ever weather wise coincided with us being locked down!
  19. High of 16c but stubborn cloud all day in this part of Wilts. Looks like we’re retrogressing on the temperature front as the week goes on and becoming unsettled again by the weekend. This awful spring continues.
  20. I just laughed when the BBC weather forecast said tomorrow will be the warmest day of the week! Weren’t the models showing 20-21 for next week a few days ago?
