Today has been an almost carbon copy of yesterday. Dry morning, wet and windy afternoon and evening, no break in the rain and 5c at 3pm this afternoon. Folks, weather wise for April it doesn’t get much….well, choose your own word…than that. I really feel for those who have paid to have a holiday this week. Awful weather.

You don’t say…. Wettest March in over 40 years for England WWW.METOFFICE.GOV.UK England has had its wettest March since 1981, with Wales and Northern Ireland also seeing one of their wettest Marches on record. And though it’s not been the coldest of months, with all the cloud and rain, it hasn’t exactly felt very warm either.

What a complete and utter **** month March has been weather wise. Far from being a spring month, it’s been a continuation of a pretty bleak winter. Storm Mathis rounding it off nicely. As for putting the clock’s forward. The only change I’ve really noticed this time was that it’s darker in the mornings! Yet to see the benefit in the evenings because the weather is so poor. To end on a positive, it looks like an improvement is on its way, just in time for Easter.

Looks about that here in Westbury, which isn’t much considering it snowed most of the night. Though lookimg back over the radar mainly light so not surprising. We did better back in December in a similar time frame and intensity from that narrow band though it was much colder. Might go for a walk out in it this morning before it disappears later if UKV is anything to go by. My concerns last night of things heading in the wrong direction appear to be happening with tonight’s second band nothing but cold rain. I’ll stay out of the MAD thread today. I don’t think I can cope with another day of the rampant ramping of a certain person from the East Midlands.

Yes, it has to say the least become somewhat obnoxious in there since this afternoon despite the best efforts of the mods and some of the more learned posters. From my extremely amateur perspective the models look all over the place at the moment; even at such short notice. It’s like pin the tail on donkey. One minute further north, then further south. Though I must say I’m not liking the trend this evening.

Back in Dorset today and was greeted with a lovely sunny morning before the cloud we left behind in Wiltshire finally caught up with us. Little change for the next few days after a lovely sunny day yesterday. Things are getting pretty mad in the MAD thread at the moment as the will we won’t see snow next week saga takes on a further dimension of uncertainty with the models looking to follow ECMs earlier lead. Best keep out of there later if the ECM continues to stick to its guns and shows the Atlantic making more progress than hoped for. Feel a bit for the mods. It’s March, if it snows then great. If not, there’s always next winter. PS Get well soon Mapantz.

The hunt for the elusive cold as a result of the recent SSW continues in there and it’s not going well. It was interesting to note a post from someone earlier that some of the regulars appear to be missing. Perhaps they know this hunt isn’t going to find the hallowed treasure of a severe winter spell so are best off out of it.
