  1. Merry Christmas all, we had a beefy. Shower with hail and sleet, gave a covering of white, really made it for the kids, I'll take that! Have fun everyone
  2. Yes, with the rain totals we are seeing, it will be widespread. The River Stour had already burst its banks this morning, so god knows what I'll be greeted by tomorrow morning on my way to work. A different route i suspect
  3. I will not be happy if my fence goes, only dug the posts in 2 weeks ago!! Really windy now, not going out it's to crazy. Bet the sea looks awesome, but this storms deserves respect!
  4. My windows are bowing in my house, insane now, looks like squall line could head our way in next hour ish
  5. Absolutely teeming it down out there, wind picking up again, going to be some high totals tonight, how's all our totals so far? I'm at 37.8mm,
  6. As far as I'm aware it did, hence some very strong inland gusts.
  7. It's pressure dropped very quickly in a short period of time as well I recall, the sting jet is what caused the major damaging winds, no sting jet here, just a very deep low and good old tight isobars, which will pack a punch, very prolonged, whereas St.Judes was not. Also a hell of a lot of rain, more especially for southern England
  8. Tomorrow is going to bring a sustained period of very strong winds, with st.judes it was a couple of hours for the strongest winds, and the rain, especially in the south is going to deliver some very high totals.
  9. Had a downpour in Bournemouth at about 2:30, but nothing much, seems we are fairly quiet here today in the build up for tomorrow. Take extra care everyone tomorrow, It's Christmas! Don't take this storm for granted, I think this will be more severe in its widespread nature than the last storm(St.Judes?) A lot of rain and the winds will be pretty severe and much more prolonged than the before mentioned storm. So many people travelling.
  10. Didn't hear the Thunder, was asleep, but only had 1mm overnight. Something tells me we could be seeing some impressive totals tomorrow though!
  11. by mid-day, Bristol peaks between 12-6pm according to MO http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/forecast/bristol-bristol#?tab=map&map=GustSpeed&zoom=8&lon=-3.44&lat=51.01&fcTime=1387767600
  12. Annoyingly the wind blew my rain gauge over, I'm now reading 347mm rain from today, #annoyed
  13. very gusty here at the moment as the squall passes over, moderate rain, but nothing to write home about. Calm before the storm tomorrow, definitely looking forward to Monday
  14. Yes I have the App for my iPhone. Only problem is it takes the readings locally from Bournemouth Airport which is out in a big open space inland, so quite often gets a lot colder than here.
  15. finished on 27.5mm, although that will increase with that band heading east
