  1. From what I've seen, end of January and into Feb are the highest chance of below average conditions and the good stuff that comes with it. Credible source imo as well.
  2. The fact they got last week spot on just goes to show how much the resources they have available have come on. I can't see a repeat of 87, not only because of the better technology for forecasting, but if things did change quickly, the power of social media etc, would spread the word quick enough to make a difference IMO.
  3. Yes, at least in winter I'm happy weather watching with a lamp post and don't need to venture out! With beverages of choice of course
  4. downgrade on the 18z GFS Let's get htis warm stuff out the way,I'm ready for winter now!!
  5. Probably a tad early to write winter off just yet, being October 30th n'all.....
  6. Indeed, looking at the GEFS, I quite like the following Purb #9 with a shift North Please Purb #13 and Purb #15,look at squeeze in the Pictionary and you'll see this I think fireworks would be banned in the Channel Islands None will verify, but hey, you gotta be in it to win it!
  7. Could be interesting for the south and Wales looking at the GFS Not ideal for launching Fireworks into the sky
  8. Yes I've seen that too, up to 40mm of rain, 15-30 widely. Coastal flooding "especially in Dorset". Also winds could gust 60mph, after Sunday and rain that is incoming, we could see further Tree's falling. Camera at the ready Look at that little feature tightening up south of Ireland crikey
  9. 2.1C here. I've seen a few weather Tweets saying "even Bournemouth down to 0C this morning". I can guarantee Bournemouth town and sea front is not 0C. The weather station is at the airport which is in a very open area, and is always colder than surrounding areas. So not a true reflection really. Infact it's not really even in Bournemouth.
  10. Can somebody stop this person? Do you forecast for the Daily Express?
  11. Oh crickey, the express are at it again, megastorm #2 heading to the uk
  12. I looked at a few in that range, but to be honest they didn't give me the overall experience I want. Last night for example, I could see the pressure dropping rapidly, hourly rainfall rates, wind speed, direction, wind chill, Dew point, etc etc etc and all very accurate!. Really made the experience all the better, rather than just looking out of the window and reading everyone's stats in there back yard! I didn't see one on the Market for £70 that would do all that accurately. I''ve got an Oregon WMR-88, from Amazon for £119.00 delivered. Worth every penny so far, it paid for itself last night imo Just my opinion of course
  13. Quite the comedown tonight compared to last night ! I actually just saw tumble weed in the Mod thread. I thought it would be a tad busier due to the chance of storms next week. Must admit I bottled it when I was on the Bournemouth overcliffe at around 12:45am, I could barely see and was being blown around quite violently, I just got straight back in my truck and retreated to Sea level. So glad I went out though. I would post vids and Pictures, but I can't figure out how to do it?
  14. I know the dark arrives quicker when we leave BST, but I do enjoy being able to model watch an hour early certainly makes the last hour of work much easier going! Unless of course there is an impending storm/Blizzard, that's always stressful !!
  15. Completely agree with you on all accounts. Absolutely irresponsible and moronic going swimming in these conditions. It should not have been aired in my opinion. I'm shocked!
  16. uh oh, round 2 anyone......? UKMO 144 ECM seems to agree a few adjustments and and I could going out again GEM has ago also they say to look for trends don't they........?
  17. Sun is out, should be a nice breezy day. There were a few trees down on my way to work, but all off the road and in fields, a lot of debris laying around, and the big winners of this storm will be the Fencing companies, fences down everywhere, including several of mine! Flooding still very much evident!!
  18. Great, just looked into my garden, fence panels all over the place, Not all of them though. What storm eh..... Worst over here now, still very blowy
