  1. Think it's all heading south I'm afraid Steph. I've chased all the way into Hertfordshire when I thought it would be further north! Hopefully I may be wrong though. Days like this if you aren't busy are definitely worth a storm chase! Maaan its just constant thunder at the minute! Incredible! Car is shaking!
  2. Oh my lord!!!! Just seen one of the best +CG's in my whole life just approaching Royston. The structure of this thing is insane too from the top, which I can no longer see. On the A505.
  3. I've just set off to get onto that one. In a lay by near Camboune at the moment in heavy rain. Looks like it's heading straight for Royston now.
  4. Looks anything but a bust from here! Going very black on the SW horizon now.
  5. Currently necking a nice KFC whilst watching those beefy cells head east towards me in huntingdon. Looking like I may strike lucky soon, then I may head further towards the M11 where the 2nd batch is looking to hit. Cambridge I reckon would be a good bet.
  6. Another strike north of Worcester now. Right, time to hit the road !!
  7. All eyes on that lot approaching West Midlands for East Anglia later. Looks good for central southern England too with a multi cluster developing by the looks of it.
  8. Think that's where I'll head to. I'll get driving down the A1 soon to the A14 and see what happens from there. May well go on into the likes of Suffolk/Norfolk if things get exciting!
  9. That shower over near Hereford is the one I'll be marking and may look to intercept later, should it really blow up. It looks like it will hit the likes of huntingdon and mid Cambridgeshire as it stands later this afternoon.
  10. Kind of stuck in the middle. Knew the front approach would be timed wrong. If it would've arrived later, that convective window over Lincs and Norfolk could've really gone bang further south and west, but then if it had gone through quickly, things to the south and west could've got going earlier. It really is all about luck most of the time.
  11. Incredible storm in Spalding right now! It just has not moved at all. Hearing the emergency services rushing about everywhere now.
  12. Good'un ain't it!! Rain is exceptional and have seen some cracking IC lightning up in the anvil!
  13. Vicious sounding storm just erupted in south Lincs now! Impressive booms!!
  14. Just got back from a very boozy time in Benidorm! Didn't see much in the way of activity there, but was too drunk to notice anything mainly anyway Nice to come back to and wake up to some deep grumbles earlier and to check the radar to see some of the biggest rainfall rates ever :O got my eye on a cell that's developing rapidly to the east of Peterborough.
  15. Painfully watching that brutal beast bully it's way over to Peterborough!! Always happens every time I holiday in June or July. September is without doubt the best month to visit the costas.
  16. Here in sunny espana in Benidorm! Very hot, but distant high based TCU over the mainland. If I get anything I'll share it!
  17. Netherlands yet again seeing a cracker with nearly 200 strikes per minute... It ain't fair!!
  18. Absolutely coming down in torrents here. No thunder does not do this any justice. Roads are becoming rivers!
  19. Will, it's only the beginning of June! Still the rest of it, July and August to go yet too. I seem to remember June 2005 at the beginning saw places have a grass frost, then the 2nd half of the month, things went out with a colossal bang.
  20. Could very possibly have been. I've witnessed thunder before with no correspondence from lightning maps. Earlier this month at Leicester I saw proof of it too, physically observed the lightning, but no detection. It only registers strikes that make contact with the ground it would seem.
  21. Got my eye on those cells approaching Lincolnshire now. If only this setup occurred 5 months ago, it would be epic wash streamers! Edit: sferics showing just off the Lincs coast now :O!!
  22. Holland can breed a storm that spits out 350+ strikes per minute, whilst we produce a few rogue sparks! Says it all. Holland really do get their fair share of the good stuff, it's like a dumping ground for storms that place.
