Literally, how many times have we seen brilliant FI runs, especially on the GFS that have not materialised. Even when it has been consistent. I remain very skeptical that the outcome will be anywhere near what is projected. It's a computer trying to forecast the British weather days and weeks in advance. I think it's much wiser to follow professional meteorologists at the Met Office, although not always right, their verification stats are probably a lot better than any model, especially the GFs in the medium range time period.

Can the GFS 12z bring the heat too? here we go... It can eventually...

As a heat fan, the ECM looks fantastic too me. Had it been the GFS showing this I don't think many would of believed it. If we get the UKMO on board aswell then I will start to believe it...

Anything over 20C is pleasant, but it isn't that warm. It's better than last year, but can we really be happy we are getting 'normal' weather? off topic and imby but can anyone be that happy with this forecast http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2644688

Early twentys aren't warm enough for many though, just average really. To say we've managed mid twentys in April, it's a bit uninspiring for June. Sunday is looking like the hottest day of the year with temperatures getting up to 27C - which is much better.

Bit off topic but if the Met Office are to be believed, wet cool summers will carry on for the next decade atleast, but with colder Winters. The Met Office and ECM will obviously be correct. typical:

Vile Easterly? It's brought a spell of warm and sunny weather here for the past 10 days. Nothing vile about that.Also it could be worse, we could have a 'vile' northerly.

I'd definitely disagree about 62/63, there was actually endless snow and ice in that Winter. Also it's not that easy to just move to 'Scandinavia' or 'the 'med'. People can crave whatever they want.

There are certainly positive signs that this June will be much better than of previous years. As long as the Azores high stays on holiday we should be good Sorry, but what does this actually mean?

The closest we ever got was 38.5C In Faversham, Kent, in 2003.

As hot as possible please, I'd take 40C happily just for entertainment to see everyone dieing Seriously though, Kent has been 1.5C off it in 2003, i wonder if 40C would ever be reached?

What I find weird is we've managed high twentys in April, yet we seem to be struggling to get to mid twentys in June. I'm sure this setup in July and August would manage high twentys though.
