  1. I wonder if the activity (if real) will die out before it reaches the land and just give us cloudy but dry conditions. Who knows!
  2. That may depend on what area out east is and where it is headed? I wonder if the radar returns are genuine.
  3. On the subject of the radar and satellite imagery, is that a genuine area of precipitation developing way up to the NE (at the rightmost limit if the radar) or is it an anomaly due to the clouds?
  4. I think it is tracking slightly south of east, but with a bit if luck it is big enough and heavy enough to affect us both.
  5. I am enjoying watching the showers approach on this webcam. East - Seacroft WWW.SEACROFTMARINE.COM
  6. Just had a decent snow shower here in the city (as opposed to the earlier graupel). Hopefully there will be a few more of these showers coming in off the sea in the coming hours. Hard to tell from the radar and satellite imagery but it is a possibility.
  7. At a guess later this afternoon/evening through to tomorrow lunchtime may be our best bet for decent convective shower activity here. After that there will still be some around but the most intense stuff may be stolen by those further south (by which I mean Angus, Fife and parts of the Central Belt, not England).
  8. Yes there is some attempted snizzle here too. Things do seem to be slowly becoming more white than wet in the city, but it is painfully slow.
  9. There’s some intermittent light rain here if that is any consolation.
  10. It is showing up very nicely on the TrafficScotland road cameras currently. There seems to be some form of intermittent sleet here this evening.
  11. I also spotted this (on the most northerly of the buoys in the North Sea). Note the dew point temperature. I wonder if there is another one with a reading like that. “What are the odds on two buoys failing?” I can’t wait until Sunday.
  12. If you want some of the amateur ones from within the city (mine included) you could have a look at: /Assets/Images/logo-global.png Met Office WOW - Home Page WOW.METOFFICE.GOV.UK The UK Met Office Weather Observation Website (WOW). WOW allows anyone to submit their own weather data, anywhere in the world.
  13. We have a thin layer of slush in this part of the city. Does that count?
  14. No snow showers here in this part of the city but I managed to spy a few when I was out for a walk on the edge of the city.
  15. If you mean none of them showing a cold easterly then yes. If you mean any other form of consistency, then absolutely not. Its ensemble data on the other hand to date have shown good consistency.
  16. Re. Your last point, the ECM op runs have been a very long way from being consistent.
  17. No snow here but lots of lovely blue skies, light winds and crispy sunshine is the next best thing (and the ground is frozen solid).
  18. Yes, depressingly inevitable and the next few days look worse.
  19. Nice to wake up to a covering of snow in Aberdeen this morning.
  20. Sadly not. We missed most of the heavier stuff and what we did get just made the cold ground wet.
  21. The air is supposed to get a bit colder in coming hours so there may be a chance of something a bit more wintry later (providing you get any precipitation).
