If she saw windmills being paid not to turn .. as many around here recently .. would she really approve ?

at the moment we produce enough food for 20 billion people but most does not make it to the market place or gets thrown away . or the taxpayer (everyone) subsidizes ridiculous schemes to waste it making 'green' energy that is less environmentally friendly than the coal fired power stations we are closing down . then we feed most of the fish we catch to animals we do not need to eat .. and we feed chicken to our farmed salmon . We could feed another 20 billion people on the food we feed animals .. but we choose to see a billion or two go hungry .. and blame them for wasting resources !

No problem with resources .. the problem is excessive consumption .Our planet can support billions more healthy people living sustainably .

This is like knowing the Fridge is broken but jumping up and down with joy because the veg box is still cool ..

still not quite reached 20'c here .. but the wildlife gets more 'southern' .. having a dawn chorus that ends at dark was not enough .. 2 new additions .. I believe they are male reed warblers .. and they sing without a break for the rest of the night !

Looking toward the arctic .. has anyone noticed the ECM is forecasting a frost free basin by the end of the month ! How quickly does it become ice free ? Looks like a super El Nino is unnecessary ...
