Morning happy campers! Yesterday dawned bright and sunny ( yes, really! ) so I took myself off tae the Big Smoke ( Portree ) in search of essentials. Came home with peanuts and fat balls for the birdies, a new wheelbarrow for me and a snow shovel. That last one was a mistake. I see that now. Sorry, I've now jinxed all possibility of any snow falling anywhere in Scotland now. Forgive me. Anyhoo, I have blue skies and light cloud at the front of the house and showers at the back. Just another normal day on Skye! Temp 5.6c. So boring! Doubt I'll see anything of the ' Christmas Star ' then!

NO idea what happened there! Sorted now!

Good morning all! It's a wee bit clearer today so will hopefully venture out for a walk later. I see New York is getting a bit of a pasting with the white stuff. 3 feet in some places. So according to the charts this is January 1st. Hhhhhmmm, I doubt it, but we'll see. The charts change so quickly so we'll see how that goes!

Phew! 45 minutes of log chopping there! A wee break in the rain forced me out and my timing was just right! Dark clouds coming in now. Am now relaxing with tea and peanut M&M's. Aaaaaaand breathe......

Oh dear, I knew I should have chopped the wood yesterday! Never mind, waterproofs will be the order of the day! Mild at 6c and light pishiness. Braw. Not.

Wee cracker! So innocent, so sweet, but hiding beneath that fluffy exterior is an absolute demon. Once home, she will take over command of the property and also the best chair. And think of the fun when the wee cutie discovers the joy of curtain climbing and leaping off onto your head! Ah, the joys of being owned by a cat!

Cloudy, breezy but dry. Temp 8c. Dullsville. Ho Hum. However, it does look to improve closer to Christmas, but I'm not holding my breath.

Howdy folks! Well, after a lovely Sunday and a agonizingly gorgeous Monday with white frost and frozen puddles we are now blanketed by ( the word of the year! ) Permagloom! Temp on Monday never rose above freezing and yesterday we got the dizzy heights oh 6c. Doesn't look like much will change over the next few days, which is a bummer. Anyhoo, walkies later on today with a friend and her doggie. Currently 5.2c and grim. Ah, well!

Afternoon all! As expected, a dusting of snow atop the Cuillins. Temp dropped to -1.1c last night and was at 1.4c at 7.15 this morning. Now at -0.1c. Clear skies, no wind, looks a it'll be frosty tonight! Lit the stove in the kitchen this morning. It only gets lit when it's very cold.

Afternoon Campers! Current temp is 2.7c with a wind chill of 0.3c. Lots of sleety rain at Broadford today and the hills sort of looked a wee teeny bit white on the tops. Am not expecting any snow tomorrow so I won't be disappointed. Even if we did get some here it wouldn't lie as the ground is sodden. Happy snow hunting tomorrow folks!

Morning all! Do I detect excitement mounting? Are we all getting a wee bit wound up at the thought of some white stuff falling from the sky? Yesterday's max temp here was 13c, lowest overnight was 2.3c. Now it's 5.2c and has just started raining. I doubt very much that it'll turn to anything white as I'm too near the sea and only about 50 metres ASL. Ach well, c'est la vie! Hope you guys all get a nice white covering tomorrow and the chance to make some snowmen!

Started rather rainy and mild this morning, temp at 7.30 was 8.9, now it is very calm and dry, temp dropped to 4c, clear skies coming in. Vast improvement! It appears that there is a chance of white stuff falling from the sky for some parts of Scotland later this week. For me that will mean sleet and rain. Ach well, it's only weather, eh?

Same here Mardatha. Temp currently 11.2c, raining along with it. Looking forward to Thursday when it looks rather like it won't rain. That'll be the first for quite a while!

And the murk descendeth! Extremely mild here, temp currently wavering between 12c and 14c. Thankfully only light rain. I knew I shouldn't have cleaned the windows yesterday.....

Morning all! A bit boring here today, grey and murky, so since there's no wind or rain I guess that log chopping is the order of the day. Yes, I caught a glimpse of the forecast for later in the week so best get as much chopped as I can. it would seem that there may be some white stuff falling from the sky, but since I'm usually disappointed whenever it is forecast I'll not bother looking out the snowshoes just yet.

Morning Happy Campers! How mild it has been the last couple of days. Didn't even light the fire yesterday and didn't really need the jacket, scarf and gloves I normally wear when walking. Mild again today, currently 13c with light cloud. Back to the usual pish tomorrow, and it looks rubbish for the forseeable. Bulbs attempting to break through the soil. If we get a nippy spell they'll be in for a shock!

Lovely day in Portree, sunny, light breeze and pleasantly warm for the time of year. Clouding over now and skies clearing so might be a bit nippy tonight. Nice day forecast for tomorrow, so I think a wee walk is on the cards.

Lovely day today but baltic with it! Currently 8c but bitter wee wind helping to bring temp down a tad. Clear blue skies too, something not seen here for a while! Fire on, munching my way through a packet of jelly babies!

Good morning from a very mild , sunny dry and calm Skye. I saw a pink sparkly unicorn frolicking on the shore alongside some selkies a wee while ago. Oh, wake up willya! It's a hoor o' a day oot there, wi' horizontal rain and strong gusts. Anemometer still not fixed so I'm relying on a friends' readings from her weather station. Bad today, but worse tomorrow I fear, so best make sure that the oil lamps are cleaned and lookout the tea lights and candles. Catch you all on the other side!

It has just stopped raining and I really do think it rained all night. Again. Wind has just dropped and sky trying very hard to clear, but I feel that no matter how hard it tries today, the clouds will always win. Bummer. Temp currently 7.4c and Oh Look! It's started raining again! Tomorrow looking a lot better so may get a walk in somewhere during the day. On a down note, whilst happily chomping on a fruit pastille yesterday I lost a filling. Not just a bit of it, the whole thing. I now have what I feel is a colossal gap there and I now have to chew on one side only. Fortunately it doesn't affect my imbibing of red wine, which I am thankful for. May have to contact dentist to see if anything can be done but with the current situation I fear not. Ah well, might have to liquidise all solid grub soon. Imagine, steak pie and tatties and veg in a mushy mess. Boak.

Well, it must have been very windy last night as part of my anemometer blew away! You know, the important bit that measures the wind speed. I did find it and if all is calm tomorrow I'll try and put it together again. My friend who lives a short distance away and also has a weather station recorded a 60mph gust last night. Sun is now out, in between showers, and I really notice the wind chill today. Anyhoo, an afternoon of knitting and DVD's for me, and keeping the fire stoked up!

Well, today turned out a lot better weather wise than I thought it would! The sun came out late morning and is till there, but temp has dropped a bit, now 8.7c and a nippy wee breeze along with it. Weekend looking like another washout along with some strong winds, so much yukkiness on the horizon. Stay warm and dry Peeplings. Only time I'll be going out tomorrow is to get coal and wood in.

What kind would you like? Choccies? Wine gums? Jelly Babies? Licquorice Allsorts? Answers on a postcard please. Cannae guarantee they'll get to you anytime soon, but the thought is always there.

A bit of a mixture yesterday, started off pish, improved at lunchtime so I was able to get out for a walk, lovely afternoon, then a return to pish which stuck with us overnight and also brought along his Big Brother Mega Pish who remains with us all day. Looks better for tomorrow but then guess who returns for the weekend and most of next week. Ach well, it's only weather and we all need something to moan about, eh?
