  1. yeah the last couple of days haven't been best but I think its been quite good to get back to seeing some good old normal Scottish summer weather with a few decently comfortable nights for sleeping in as I'm a love sleeping in the cold person so its been a bit better plus while rain isn't best for us at least the snails and the slugs have been having a good time with it my gardens been full of them and even found a couple taking a slide in my kitchen after leaving the back door open.
  2. it might be flash flooding there is a similar radar return just went through Kilmarnock as there was went over Renfrew lastnight and they experienced flash flooding there
  3. Chris Beal â€@NJSnowFan 1h Coldest Temps since spring being reported near the north pole today. Re-Freezing starting, Cam pict's 8/2 and 8/3 pic.twitter.com/0bCIdoP6fq
  4. i read somewhere I cant remember where and I really wish I could but it said that when the sun goes quiet it affects the heating of the oceans and in turn affects how the atmosphere couples so I suspect that solar activity does have something to do with why el nino has failed to deliver this time even with such a big warm pool and possibly why as well in recent years when you hear people talking about other things like the strat they talk of there being disconnects in recent years. I wouldn't be surprised to see things go into a la nina state by the time winter comes around.
  5. here is something to put a bit of sparkle back into a gloomy rain filled day in Scotland John Beattie â€@BBCJohnBeattie 1h So to recap, at 9.8 medals per million Scotland is most successful team, and 52 medals is best ever in finite and proportion terms ever... fantastic achievement for Scotland to do so well at these games and to have so many medals so far and hopefully we can add a few more before tomorrow evening.
  6. its fookin pishin it doon. just aswell we have finally seen some decent rain here I was starting to forget it was Scotland. before its commented on that it was a purely weather related comment.

  9. Antarctic ice concentration anomaly chart says all that needs to be said about the increases we are seeing in the middle chart and that was june I bet july is going to look good aswell

  14. looks like melt may not be too high in the next few weeks WSI Energy Weather â€@WSI_Energy 44m Fun Fact: It still snows over the North Pole during the Summer... Greenland to pick up 10-25" these next two weeks.
  15. looks like there should be some pretty cold air over the arctic over the next few weeks WSI Energy Weather â€@WSI_Energy 44m Fun Fact: It still snows over the North Pole during the Summer... Greenland to pick up 10-25" these next two weeks.
  16. bit of a cool down to come at the beginning of next week but our above average summer might not be finished yet WSI Europe Weather â€@WSI_EuroEnergy 38m Model agreement as to warm north, cooler south across Europe. pic.twitter.com/Wau1FpqlO6
  17. well the last few days have been really hot has anyone melted into a big puddle of sticky mess yet lol currently nearly 30c at the stations I check and according to the link below many places in the central belt have breached 30c already with it getting a reading of 32c in Glasgow http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?brand=wxmap&query=56.02005,-3.812121
  18. well that was a warm day today at least we can get the warmth seen as the storms just didn't happen lol STIRLING : 26.0c POLMONT : 27.0c FALKIRK : 28.3c that's how the weather stations I check saw it today. thankfully I went to the beach at aberdour so wasn't too bad down there and a bit cooler could see the haar over in Edinburgh though it didn't look like they had all that great a day didn't look like it cleared till after 4 o'clock. I think we need to badger the met office to put an official station in Falkirk as it always seems to be a bit hotter here than the surrounding areas.
  19. looks like you might get some storms in the next hour or two from looking at radar theres something working across the channel
  20. skies getting quite menacing to the south I have little low level clouds popping up here ahead of it they look like scud clouds but not sure if they develop this far ahead or not
  21. that will be the distant rumble I just heard then
  22. i just came in and noticed that on radar it does look interesting and hopefully it can develop its showing some sferics on radar as well.
