  1. like this on meteociel the video shows well how much storms are going to break out on Saturday and even has some pretty intense stuff making it through Scotland on saturday http://www.meteociel.fr/modeles/videos_wrfnmm.php?ech=3&mode=14
  2. go to this link it should be on the NMM Europe precipitation video it doesn't do much with what we are seeing in the southwest tonight but it brings some pretty intense stuff through on saturday http://www.meteociel.fr/modeles/videos_wrfnmm.php?ech=3&mode=14
  3. yeah man heres hoping and you know if we do get something its always better to start off in our position with very little expectation of receiving anything then if it comes its pretty good rather than sitting down south really expecting due to the forecasts and watching everything skirt round you now that would be a total bummer lol
  4. for anyone interested tonight on discovery science channel 219 on virgin don't know what it is on other networks at 8pm theres a program called timebomb Iceland about the eruption of 2010 and what could come next from Icelands volcanoes may be an interesting watch it is repeated after at 9pm on the +1 channel
  5. yeah it does seem it and hopefully this time around it will push right up into Scotland and give us some of the excitement as well for a change instead of it all dying over northern england
  6. its good for me for summer as getting a bit higher temps is always good and pretty sheltered from the wind as well I will be able to tell when we get later into the year if its the same in winter or not although hopefully we get a massive greeny for the whole of winter and it wont really matter.
  7. with the models seeming to show upgrades I am wondering if we may see further upgrades right the way till the event happens as when you think of it models are run to go along with previous old data so if this is different from what we have seen in the past and is to be worse then the models might be struggling to keep up with it as they are going along with what usually happens and it usually getting shunted off east after all they can only go as far as they are programmed to and if this is to be unusual compared to previous plumes we could see this getting better from a storm point of view
  8. headlines for Monday biggest storms ever hit the UK over the weekend with relentless constant major downpours and baseball size hail the added weight of extra water has caused the UK to fall into the sea
  9. on the stations I look at they are currently STIRLING : 21.3c POLMONT : 23.1c FALKIRK : 25.2c some temp differences for short distances prob due to Falkirk being in a bowl and would maybe help explain lack of snow in winter as well.
  10. my hopes for this coming weekend are the usual suspects that always get storms totally miss out and watch the rest of us getting totally hammered by storms massive hail and the odd tornado even making its way up through Scotland then we will see how they feel
  11. saw this on twitter look at the thing next to the pier in the water Loch Earn in the southern Highlands of Scotland this afternoon zoom in if need for better look what is it some weird guy or something different the eyes look weird and the waist is pretty skinny.
  12. SpotlessGood morning. Below is an updated image of the visible solar disk on Wednesday. Okay, Technically this is a picture of an orange, but our visible disk looks very similar today. Region 2113 faded away leaving the Earth facing side of the sun spotless for the first time since August 14, 2011. This will be made official later today just as long as 2113 remains a spotless plage. We will likely see more periods of active sunspots during the next year or so, but a gradual downward turn in overall activity is inevitable. Solar activity should continue at very low levels today. No Earth directed coronal mass ejections were observed during the past day. Stay tuned to SolarHam.com for the latest information. I changed out the picture of the orange for the current visible disk
  13. netweather 10 day forecast has me having storms on Saturday and sunday then it ramps up the storm threat again at end of next week cant post it wont let me.
  14. there were reports on twitter of lightning in Dundee and parts of fife so its certainly raising my hopes if we can get that today then why not over the weekend
  15. there were predictions done by scientists saying that once solar max was over the sun spot count could very well drop through the floor and could see the sun going back to spotless states before the end of this year even possibly extended spells with no spots I watched it on a video posted in the regional thread through the winter sunspot count only on 25 today with very little on the visible disk Daily Sun: 16 Jul 14 None of these small sunspots poses a threat for geoeffective solar flares. Solar activity is low. Credit: SDO/HMI Sunspot number: 25 sometimes you think they are just looking for something that may be there just so it isn't spotless and don't know if its just me or if others may think this but did the spot counts for this max look pretty high for what was on the visible disk.
  16. nice round up of june from the met office and Scotland was mentioned quite a bit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHS3dM65_Pk#t=155
  17. yep the 12z ECM is a belter and you can see it building through todays runs on the GEFS for my location EDIT : added tonights 18z in there as well as it continues to build things nicely and It came along to what ECM was showing later in its run as well
  18. big hailstorm batters beach goers in Siberia http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=1a0_1405179933
  19. certainly interesting to see katla hiccupping away hopefully it will really come to life soon but would prefer to see more quakes going on. here's one for you roads melting in Yellowstone due to heat wave well is it really the heat its only been in the low 80's and surely that isn't enough to melt the road like that as it doesn't in other parts of the world plus why have hikers to stay away from the affected area a bit suspect in my eyes http://www.accuweather.com/en/weather-news/yellowstone-heat-road-melts/30238184
  20. heres how the weather stations I check saw it today STIRLING : 24.3c POLMONT : 25.3C FALKIRK : 26.7c pretty warm day and nice and dry hopefully another round tomorrow
  21. currently 24c here with some good sunshine and just a few clouds floating about and really feeling warm. from the looks of the forecasts and the models we might not get our easterly push and the heat it would bring as it barely looks to get in before its shoved off back into the continent although we will wait and see how it plays out I'm not sure about how summer month work compared to winter months but during winter these highs over Scandinavia can tend to be more stubborn than the models make out hopefully it will be the same this time but up till now its not looking too good for a lengthy warm dry spell at least we will get a few days and maybe some thunder and lightning to go with it.
  22. why don't you's come along and join us after all anywhere north of Yorkshire Westminster don't give a crap about anyway.
