2nd July 2006 was a beast. It was a hot sultry day,cumulus clouds were developing during the afternoon then all of a sudden, it was like as if some had turned the tap on suddenly and it absolutely tipped it down. The rain was phenomenal, there was pea-sized hail and intense CG lightning, flash flooding. 3 hours later, it was sunny late evening and it looked as though nothing had happened. -

This summer is nothing like summer 2012, that summer exploded on the launchpad before it even took off. This summer is like a probe that was successfully launched but we have lost contact with and is adrift. Can we reconnect with probe and ergo get the summer back on course?

That was a beauty. Reached my area during the early hours of the Sunday when thunder sounding like a cannon going off woke me up. I thought it was a rogue thunder shower because there were only a couple of more widely separated rumbles of thunder. As I started to nod off, the thunder got more frequent and I looked out the window to be treated to a spectacular lightning display to my west.
