  1. This looks to be where cold air ahead of front mixed out, to me this looks SW'ly Atlantic air, surely with that it cannot start as snow, but just what it looks, I'm no expert but surely need the air on more negative SSE angle
  2. you I think are the best placed member on this forum for snow Wed through to Thur, few others like polar maritime, bigsnow, terminal moraine, fedmog, kasimweatherquarnford
  3. yes, I think snow warnings for peak district, Pennines and Staffs moorlands might be issued, flood warnings for west midlands SW and Wales
  4. as I said earlier in the thread, wednesday is an absolute shocker washout for West midlands, full timed for the day, SE England get lucky, dry wednesday dry thursday, timed for the night, meto surely to issue flood warnings for north west/midlands
  5. not for wednesday, just in general, I posted my thoughts for horrendous wednesday earlier in this thread
  6. yes, prefer warm rain, but prefer dry at 1C than wet at 15C, or any temp really 20+
  7. true to say that seas too cold to create convective snow? because the days after the 2013 snow, there were no showers, where as same setup late Nov (warm seas) very snowy, late march when seas at their coldest chart above snowless
  8. 2008 23rd March, very early snow, quick thaw, Easter day 2013 cold and dry, still snow around, snowmen etc and where piled up from 22-24th March snow
  9. U, Ugbagbor? used to play scrabble with guy named that? Xavier, yolanda and Zach?
  10. is it true nick they name them alternate male/female? sure I have noticed this
  11. completely disagree, give me 10-15 any day, it's going to be absolutely horrendous, meto soon to issue rain/flood warnings, and really should be 10th named storm Josh?
  12. god nick, was just going to post that, started to tell people as from Friday last week that Wednesday is going to be an absolute washout, never mind the 9 named storms, this Wed 17th Feb is going to be MILES worse and rain is timed completely for the day, 7am-6pm, is there a scientific reason for timing of fronts night/day or is it just luck? because I have noticed washout systems are always timed for the day
  13. was a very light snow shower around 4.45pm at Gaol Square Stafford, maybe not noticeable if not outside
  14. not been that cold here, 5.3C max, East wind in Feb, useless, may as well have 12C with Atlantic air
  15. yes, I think the lows tracked a bit further South that year, NW dosen't look as wet as this year, also this year seen a bit more snow, where as 13-14 just 11th Feb and few flakes on 30th Jan, but turned milder by afternoon
  16. where were you then? not Cannock I assume, wasn't that wet here, not like some places SW and N/NW
  17. just used it in scrabble! got me 75 points, facebook scrabble allows it
  18. only for elevation oop norf, pop your location in profile? so we know where you mean etc
  19. I would ignore CFS useless model! stick to big 3, GFS, ECM and UKMO, all 3 go for a shocker washout wet Wednesday in the South, and then the Atlantic being in control
  20. all linked though really, mild means dull, mild means wet and wet means dull
  21. disagree with MOD then, snow is only going to happen in the north, at elevation, I'm dreading wednesday shocker rain timed right for daylight hours, 8 till 6, wouldn't mind it at night
  22. legendary! especially Friday 26th, very snowy, why can't we get these great setups nowadays 2000+
  23. legendary again, very snowy, and my only white new year, snowed all day,
  24. legendary! wish we still got these setups, my best snow underestimated by bbc, other way around nowadays, snow tends to be over ramped
