  1. agree matey, just posted similar thing in whiners thread! shame as we all know it'll downgrade to wet
  2. deepest FI but 2 runs on the trot now, bring on Spring! I live at low levels, cannot be arsed with farty rain and 3C all know of course these charts will downgrade to wet
  3. seems weird that cold air on southern flank of the low? chart must support snow south/rain north?????????
  4. similar setup to 16-17 Jan this year? saw lying snow at low level then, was modeled west but moved further east than modeled, infact a bit too East for me
  5. maybe a wee bit better now, as I saw heavy falling wet snow today, but still typical of modern times
  6. snowy morning, was heavy at times, rain/sleet as well, but now feels milder as less cold uppers move down from the north good to see falling snow, huge fire broke out about 1 mile north east of town centre, smoke billowing out all day
  7. 2nd march last year one of coldest feeling days ever
  8. Gentleshaw will be okay 216m asl, elevation rules, low levels suck
  9. friday even less chance for high levels, big mild sector modeled over midlands, another wet day coming up
  10. agree with that, but weirpig may see lots 215m not too bad, but I have been telling people about washout Stafford tomorrow, similar to Wed 17th Feb
  11. eh? that's the way it is though, I expect nowadays the Atlantic to dominate from late Nov through to at least Mid Feb, whenever it dosen't is rare and a bonus especially early Dec to mid Jan, to me is the most westerly/stormiest period of the year
  12. bit disappointing but expected really, we are an Atlantic island with prevailing westerlies
  13. feb often best, as it's normally the least Atlantic dominated month, finished well here 9 dry days on the trot, but another snowless one
  14. sigh, back to normal from tomorrow, low pressure, wet days, paying for the 9 dry days on the trot
  15. Agree about Feb being coldest month and Dec warmest, but isn't that only because of frequency of Atlantic air/low pressure? surely if we had exactly same setup mid Dec and mid Feb, mid Dec would be colder, seas colder also in Feb, colder still in march
  16. early cold way better, late Feb is just too warm, but seas the other way too cold for decent showers, Dec colder land/temps warmer seas bigger showers Wed does not interest me, models overdo snow potential, can guarantee nearer time that will downgrade to north only
  17. trouble is Dec is when you need these setups, not late Feb, but not possible in Dec due to raging Atlantic
  18. yes, good charts for hillier areas oop norf again, had enough now come on Summer
  19. happy b'day nick! yes here not as bad as 2013/14, a few washouts, worst 17th Feb, bit more snow
  20. I agree with this, roll on Summer, charts look absolute pants for my location if it's snow/cold or warmth you're after wouldn't agree though if I lived at decent elevation oop norf, would be thinking stuff summer bring on the snaw
  21. April though creates convective cloud, unless easterlies, then my area struggles with north sea dirt, mist burnt off very quickly today, by 8am, same setup in say May, would take until 1pm ish
  22. can definitely tell it's February, stronger sun, usually sunniest month, as any later in year more cloud due to convection
