  1. Just looked again and BBC still has heavy snow for 2 hours in Helston tomorrow morning. Cant see this being right.what do you think?
  2. BBC weather now giving 2-3 hours heavy snow for helston 7-10AM tomorrow morning Hope it's right. East wind horrendous here now. must be gusting gale force and very big seas. YUK.
  3. LOL In fairness most of my fishing is from the shore around the helford porthallow area. Shallow diving plugs mostly. Fish mostly in the 2-3 lb range.odd one a bit bigger.
  4. Watching john wilson Grayling fishing always makes me want to try it. I Fancy dressing up in all that tweed drinking rum out of a hip flask Proper job fishing.
  5. Just about fish totaly for Bass these days. King of the sea,the Bass. Got the famous manacles reef about a mile away, still a few double figure fish left. Wouldn't want to be there at the moment mind you.
  6. Sod that course/game stuff, have a trip out with me and catch some proper fish
  7. Dont think tomorrow will be v.nice Near gale force east wind +cloudy skies=HORRIBLE Still, cant complain, could be sunny and mild i suppose.
  8. So,the pros on the MOD thread seem to be chasing the next cold spell again, before this one has even started. Iknow this should'nt come as a surprise, it's what they do,but come on,it's march in a few days, time to think about spring i think. The last 2-3 days has been a little reminder that spring is on the way and do you know what,it feels good,it lifts the spirit. Dont get me wrong,i'am chasing the little blob of blue around my laptop just like everyone else.Praying for a snow flake, just like everyone else but to want the cold to go on and on and on and on,just seems strange.
  9. Missed the spotlight forecast, Just wondering if the white stuff was mentioned or not?
  10. The nights are really coming out now, fantastic Great red sky tonight aswell, bodes well. That wind at this time of year, has certainly got a sting to it though.Trouble is, there's no avoiding it this side of the lizard.
  11. Answers my question. no spotlight aswell. What is a man to do without his nightly braine fix?
  12. Never stops growing down here. Perhaps only cut about once every 3 weeks or so but if i'd left it since oct, i'd have a hay meadow by now
  13. Looks like fri/sat will be the coldest days of the winter for much of the region, certainly so for here. Just a shame it's looking dry. Might at least get to see some frozen puddles (haven't seen any of those this winter)
  14. Going up to truro in a bit for a lovely half term day expect it to be brighter there.
  15. Not so good here today. Very overcast skies and still quite windy. Typical feb easterly, the 2 D's, dull and dry. Got a bit exited back a couple of days ago that we might get some snow, but that seems to have dissapeared now. Not a fan of these easterlies ,cant fish because of the rough seas and the garden plants get burned with the wind. Time to through in the towel for this winter i think, roll on spring. P.S cant think of anything worse than a cold march just such a waste.
  16. very good cant chat anymore, got to watch my celtic friends beat you lot from across the border.
  17. Very true. My approach to model watching is to view them like you would say an episode of Dr who, just for fun. Iv'e made to many mistakes in the past of believing a cold spell is coming and telling family and friends only to look silly a few days later. The reality is that for us in the far southwest, getting ice and snow,is about as difficult as finding rocking horse droppings. Just relax, get your model fix, dont believe anything you see and you will be fine
