  1. Plan to start fishing again next tide, but these east winds, well lets just say,we could have a kinder direction. East winds are always bitter sweet for me. You might get some cold/snow but on the other side, you will lose money. Thats why TBH i dont like them from now on. Give me gentle S/W winds from now and i'll be happy.Do we really want snow in april??? See the boys in green are doing a bit better .Think they might survive?
  2. Dont think the tourist industry will be to happy with that forecast!! Might have to change their advertising campaign Visit cornwall and freeze your bo----ks of EDIT see falmouth bay has turned into a mountain range again. Dont you just love these east winds
  3. Shame we cant live down here but get their salaries at the same time.
  4. Sorry,ia'm afraid that one went straight over my head. We are just simple cornish folk you know. Be gentle
  5. I'am Another week of cold, raw east winds bringing high windchills, but dry with slate grey dark sky's and not a sods chance of seeing any snow. Massive seas meaning no chance of fishing. winds burning s--t out of any plant they touch and heating bills going through the roof. Suppose there's always flambards
  6. Was just thinking how nice it was. V still, mild and birds singing at 6:15, Such a shame were back to these bl----y east winds, tomorrow. As us fishermen would say "when the wind is in the east,no good for man or beast".
  7. Conditions here seem to have got a bit better. The local brook was over it'.s banks yesterday morning. Today, the levels are a lot lower. I think we had our heaviest rain early yesterday.
  8. Rain has stopped, sky looks a bit lighter.Maybe the worst is over for us in the extreme south. BBC forecast for things to turn light/patchy this afternoon. EDIT spoke to soon .Heavy rain again. Feeling mild outside though.
  9. Now you know how i feel pretty much every cold spell. Switch on the t.v to see it snowing from bodmin northwards.
  10. If we get a beautiful summer that is. You drive from princetown for a day out at flambards?
  11. You get used to it here. For once the snow line is a bit further north, most times it,s just me and my mate chris that see rain while the rest of you have snow. EDIT Porthallow, mildest place in u.k
  12. Gets my vote. Building a large allotment/kitchen garden for a customer and it's now march21 and not 1 single seed sown. Looks like april at the earliest now before we get any warmth. Just as the ground was becoming plantable, here comes another dollup of rain to turn it to mud again.
  13. Main headline on spotlight was the 10 car pile up on the A30 near temple this afternoon. Big hail storm given as the reason for the crash. I know we all love the weather extremes, and things dont get much better than a hailstorm, but today just shows how serious and potentially devastating the weather can be.
  14. All in all a nice looking day here.Sun is out with a few passing showers. All this talk of snow, just seems bizare . Cornwall really does get different weather.
  15. Had a lot of rain in the night, but looks better this morning. Rain has stopped and even some blue sky in places. Hoping for a good day with a few heavy showers. Not to bothered about this afternoon anyway, rugby is on. I see a few posts above hinting at possible cold conditions again next week. When will this winter end? Be snowing on the bluebells at this rate!!
  16. I see the MOD thread is all exited again over a another snowy spell. Might be missing something, but just see wind and rain for our neck of the woods Cold all locked up to our north.Suppose things could move south again. Watch out channel islands.
  17. I can say the same thing most saturdays. Just change the last 4 words with, following wife.
  18. Looks like game over for today, solid cloud base to the west/s.west now.Rain not to far away.
  19. TBH i cant remember now but i dont think you always come up as being online.
  20. Caught many blue sharks up to about 80lb and 1 porbeagle 125lb Also get theshers and the odd mako . As for the great white, well it's hard to say but i wouldn't be to surprised if someday, one came up in a net. Ia'm sure, they do visit our waters in the summer.
  21. This spell of east winds, will have dropped sea temps a bit, fishing might be a bit slower this spring, Mackerel should make an appearense soon.
