  1. Sorry, must have missed that. Just got a bit over exited, nothing like seeing Steve on here to lift one's spirits.
  2. Great news, Steve Murr is out of hibernation, must be an ice age coming
  3. I agree that this is the sort of weather to expect at this time of year but it doesn't stop me hating it all the same. Have had a week now of wet, miserable, totally unusable weather. Who cares that it's mild, big deal. Hate this time of year, roll on winter and then roll on spring,at least there's something to look foreword to at those times. As someone who suffers from SAD's(seasonal affected disorder) this kind of weather is met with absolute dread. Please, please let me see the sun.
  4. So,it's going to be mild in early Nov,big deal. What's the alternative, sub zero temps with freezing rain and the cornish glacier heading down the A30!!! It's still autumn, lets have the warmth now,i say, cold synoptics at this time of year are just a prick tease anyway. Why waste a north-east gale with a channel low now when we can actually benefit from one, later in the season.
  5. I'd rather have dry cold weather to the endless mild rainy muck,we have to endure each winter As a landscape gardener the last few weeks have been great, more of the same please.
  6. Well, another winter just around the corner, can feel the excitement starting to build. Probably another green, wet and windy one for us in the extreme south but finger's crossed hey. Hope knocker's Daf's take a pounding, not like there isn't enough of them anyway.
  7. Think if i listen carefully,i can here a fat lady singing somewhere. Only 12 days of feb left and no sign of anything interesting for down here. Me think's that's it now for this winter. Although it could have been a whole lot better,i have seen snow falling on 2 occasions and settling once. Have seen quite a lot of frost and frozen puddles, infact, more than normal for here. Haven't had those raging storms and endless rain of many a winter here. Infact, tbh,it's not been to bad a winter, really. 1 thing i see on here all the time is people wishing for a cold spring(march, april) WHY??? Winter for me is those few dark weeks, either side of xmas. To wish it cold in spring is something i just don't understand. For me,it's time to look forward to things warming up now and to dream about the record breaking winter of 2015-2016
  8. Think you missed one knocker. "charts courtesy weatherbell" Wins first prize for me.You nutter
  9. Yep,Sunday and today have been stunning. Wall to wall sunshine with v.light winds. Went for a walk around porthleven yesterday and ended up in a T shirt Spring, def in the air.
  10. Cycle to work!!! now there's a thought, note to self "must try harder" Think you where in the sweet spot last evening, lot's of snowy posts on FB from your way. We had another shower about 10pm but nothing like earlier. Nice to see some left this morning. Still a lot of feb left, here's hoping we get some more.
  11. Looks' like a lot of our region has seen some snow at last, thank F--k for that. No more snow here but still some on the ground and everywhere looks frozen, our cornish lanes are going to be dodgy this morning.
  12. Bit more than briefly settled GLTW Gone from the roads now but fields and roof tops still white in St Keverne,Daughter's little snow man just about still hanging in there. Need a top-up sap,any chance,or is that just being greedy.
  13. Daughter just made a mini-snowman from off the garden table Thank you weather gods,i'll be good now, promise
  14. Yep,2010 was largely a non event here. Last snow day was Jan 13. Snow stopped now but was heavy for 20-30 mins, everywhere white.
  15. Why did i bother turning on the computer, see the Met Off have removed my snow warning for tom and monday. Typical and expected but sad all the same. Don't think i'll look on-line much more this winter, can't be arsed with the let-downs. See you all next winter
  16. Phew, you got me going then, you little tinker Just checked again, still got my 9 hours of light snow on mon morning(bbc Helston)
  17. Who cares, snow might actually fall out of the sky, happy days
  18. This is becoming a truly remarkable day, have now got 9 hours of light snow forecast between midnight and 9am on monday. You will go many years down here,to see such things.
  19. I know what you mean. Think me might see a little something on sun though. I wouldn't go getting the sleigh out yet though. Do any of you fellow cornish crew, own a sleigh?
  20. O.M.G,they've done it,they've only gone and blinking well done it,i've got a snow crystal sign on my local BEEB forecast I admit,it's only 1 crystal for 1 3 hour period on sunday night, but hey, can't tell you what this means. Must be in for a right Blizzard. Anyway, that's my winter complete,Snow symbol off them,fan-bleaming -tastic.
  21. Think we've got it sorted down here mate,we expect nothing because that's usually what we get. Just to see a snowflake or a bit of frost is a bonus for us Personally,i'm v. exited about the weekend ,things falling into place for us to see something white. Don't need 10ft of snow and -20,a day of snow shower's will do just fine.
