  1. No measuring stick here but this was a bench at work: I'd say thats at least 30CM if not more? The plough has been in the car park, pushed all the snow up the sides meaning no one can park properly! Really impressive depth and such powdery snow.
  2. Earlier the radar was showing it pushing across the Midlands again as snow, but recent updates keep it further south.
  3. Arrived at work in Quinton and my god. The snow is remarkable. The car park was ploughed but has sent all the snow to block the spaces so it is impossible to park. Never seen anything like it!
  4. Not far from my measurements, probably slightly more as higher up here in Norton. Not a bad effort in the end, but super jealous down south.
  5. Light snow still, which since dark has meant it has really topped up the cover we have. 3 inches on top of the wheelie bin, not bad really. Some paths its struggled to settle deep on but trees/bushes and grass are doing well. Roads are generally clear other than side ones,
  6. Well I had written today off, however it has been snowing for two hours now and whilst the flakes are small it is adding to the cover. Radar looks much better for the north now!
  7. Yes, few flurries in the air just now but I can't see any potential for heavy snow this afternoon. Just think if the model were 50 miles north...
  8. The radar looks to be fizzling out for the whole area over the next few hours on Rain Today.
  9. So do we have chance of snow tonight for the north of the region now?
  10. It was obvious even yesterday this would happen and it did but they still insisted on an amber. Maybe the very south west of Staffs is bad near the Shropshire border but everywhere else is fine.
  11. The Met Office should have removed Cheshire/Staffs out the amber warning this morning but they didn't.
  12. A gap on the radar is around Stoke at the moment, couldn't make it up.
  13. Sun is out here with about 2cm around. Poor show for us. Birmingham/Solihull look battered though, all buses suspended.
  14. Few CM here, flakes are quite small so not building quick,
  15. Grit doesn't melt snow as such and required cars to get working too. As it is Sunday traffic is light so it may take a while. Even the motorways are down to one lane as snow on others.
  16. Nothing still in Stoke. Radar was meant to show snow from 5am onwards but keeps being pushed back.
  17. We do really badly from these frontal systems from the south.
  18. I knew this was going to be a let down for this area and so far it is bone dry with a dampness to the air (despite temps being -2). Enjoy down south.
  19. I knew this would shift south. Coupled with the fact that today's showers have left limited cover despite being intense most of the day, I am very disappointed. The dew points were pitiful for snow to lie.
  20. Another snow shower but struggling to stick with a dew point of 0. Slushy mess now.
  21. Dew points must be high then. We've had quite a good covering of snow all morning but in the last hour between showers its melting rapidly.
  22. The melt-rate here today is quite significant really considering how cold it feels. I thought it would stick around but roads are virtually clear of snow now.
  23. Anyone else on RainToday seeing a streamer setting up for the Stoke/Staffs area this afternoon? We literally had a gap of about 30 minutes just where the sun came out but snowing again now. Ground temps must be quite high as the melt rate is quick on tarmac.
