  1. Thought this might happen, storm threat almost taken away here now by both BBC and the MetOffice, so another chicken-up by that pair, so it is best to just to look out the window and keep tabs on radars, etc.
  2. Northern England/North Wales look to be in the prime spot for whatever occurs. Not optimistic for my location, cooling off now - 18.2c, no sun just total cloud cover, bands of showers look the more likely today.
  3. Looks like good old fashioned showers, no strikes anywhere near, regular or recent.
  4. Little bit wary of all these warnings around my location, heavy showers, yes, but storms, not so sure, just preparing myself for a little disappointment, even had some rain yesterday evening which wasn't on the forecast at all.
  5. A few strikes showing in Belgium in the last 5 minutes, probably irrelevant.
  6. Storm risk has been reduced substantially here for today, i.e., it ain't gonna happen. I guess we had all our fun on Tuesday evening/night, suppose twice in one week is asking for a bit too much, but wouldn't want to get wet watching the match tonight anyway.
  7. Cloud appears to be rolling in from the SSW here now, temp peaked at 26.5C. Err, backtrack on that alittle, seems it has reached it's westward extent, cloud seems to be breaking more readily, and the temp has jump up to 27.6C, so well above the expected high.
  8. Huge crack about 15 mins ago, woke me and my lad up, the missus is still asleep though, didn't flinch. That thing looks like it's still growing as well.
  9. Time period shortened further (from 6 down to 3 hours now) on the local forecast here for storms/thundery showers, may well just be reduced to good old fashioned showers.
  10. Try this link, a few of you may already know about it :- https://www.lightningmaps.org
  11. Just had literally a handful of spots of rain, also clouds look to be thinning a little towards the west and south-west.
  12. Predominantly overcast but still not a spot of rain here yet in north Wolves.
  13. Still predominantly cloudy - but starting to break now, and temps passed 23C already, so heat should not be a problem today.
  14. Clouding over here now at the moment, warm though 21.2C.
  15. Didn't happen in in this country, so you may want to delete this, but when my family and i were on holiday in Thailand back in April, the one storm i witnessed there was something i had never seen before, the sound from those rumbles was deafening, the rainfall totals must of been immense, but the flashes occurred almost every second for about 30 minutes, it was absolutely phenomenal, something that i will never see again, certainly anywhere near these shores. Just wish i could of recorded some of it.
  16. Always thought the 06z & 18z GFS output were the more accurate/reliable, so another 12 hour wait on this rather severe and possibly dangerous output for some people if may affect with health issues.
  17. Slight difference from the run from 6 hours earlier, eh. Not banking anything on this until 24/48 hours, even then it can still swing round, this is the UK and north Atlantic after all.
  18. Heatwave and thunderstorm risk should cancelled in this area now
  19. People expecting mid thirties, was and is very hopeful, so it may just break the 80F mark here (Wolves) on Friday/Saturday, but even then it's still 4 or 5 days away, but things can and do go pear shaped at very short notice, remember this is the UK.
  20. Not a sound or drop of rain last night, today not looking great either today, BBC still insists on some activity from 10am, whereas the Met-Office, just has light rain from mid afternoon, storm threat a wee bit of a joke locally really. Latest pulse or rain (or storms!) looks likely to hit parts of the south-east and east anglia on it's current track.
  21. Just a whopping 26C forecast for good old Wolves on Saturday, can't help thinking that they're overcooking this a little, a few may be a little disappointed.
  22. Looks like the atlantic escalator is kicking off, nice temps, though they will not materialise either.
  23. Worth watching yes, but not worth getting too animated by this until it's practically knocking on our door - if it gets that close. Also if it does appear i just hope it's not on March 11th, as i have a rather important 5 day hospital admission!
