  1. The point i'm making is that, it was pi**ing down with rain, with regular thunder and lightning for nearly half an hour before the amber warning was seen by some, so there was not any time to prepare for it - this was Sunday's storm.
  2. This was the metoffice warning - "Severe thunderstorms likely to produce torrential downpours, flooding in some places and frequent lightning.", from what was quoted and on this forum, i don't think much of that was anywhere near the mark, it was was just a case saving a litte pride, because the amber warning on Sunday turned up at quite short notice.
  3. The activity in France is slowly dying a death, and i think the activity over here could hardly be called frantic.
  4. Any precip just dying a death within 30 miles or so of my location, let alone any storm development, just cloudy with a light NE breeze now, which could be part of the problem, Temp - 20.3C.
  5. I know, there's bugger'all happening here, and it just does not look as if it will, Sunday's event was a very rare occurence, and may not happen again for a while.
  6. It doesn't look any drama is gonna happen this time, that shower to the south-east of the West Mids, looks like it's fizzling out, unless my eyes are deceiving me.
  7. It's going to be a non event here i think, warm, yes, but the air seems too dry.
  8. There may be a few heavy showers around this evening, but far as storms, still nothing, it just isn't warm/hot enough, or the humidity isn't high enough, or both. Temp here peaked at 22.3C, but skies cloudied over and have dropped back down to 21.8C.
  9. Looks like western Germany and the Netherlands are gonna have some fun again, still hardly a sniff over here. Cloud burning back behind that small shower over west Wolves.
  10. The track of these showers look like at the moment that they're heading mainly for Wales, the South-West and the western part of the Midlands.
  11. I hope i'm wrong but part of me thinks that these warnings are just to protect the metoffice's pride and backside after what happened over the weekend, because all the activity is over the Netherlands and Northern France, and it's very lively there, but with nothing at all anywhere on this side of the channel other than rainfall/showers. Like i said i hope i am wrong. Bright here, temp - 21.3C, so not exceptionally warm at the moment.
  12. Looks like East Anglia (Norfolk) are going in line for those over the North Sea, still very quiet over the much of the UK for strikes.
  13. Well, according to all the warnings out today, it will be all eye's and ears open later this afternoon, so we shall see.
  14. Thursday looks very lively - at the moment, but these forecasts are a huge difficulty to predict.
  15. Seems to be shifting fairly quickly, it'll probably be here by early morning.
  16. If anyone hasn't already noticed, but there is a pretty active lump over the low countries/southern north sea which looks like it could be heading in this general area.
  17. I can't measure the rainfall levels here, but it was very severe, torrential, with frequent thunder and lightening, and alot of places were flooded, but it wasn't sunny, just bright though very warm humid. Current temp here is 22.3C and partly cloudy with light winds, storms are not forecast from the metoffice or bbc, but you never know, like yesterday was never supposed to be quite as bad as it was, when the amber warning from the metoffice was almost a "now" forecast.
  18. That storm down south, such as it was, seems to be fizzlling away already, so i'd be surprised if anything much kicks off today.
  19. That was a pretty intense storm earlier, just looking at the radar, there "may" be some more rain kicking off to the south-east of here, has anybody noticed this, or is this not going to be significant.
  20. BBC forecast for my area is kindof, er wrong, it said light rain and breezy, but in fact it is heavy rain with very little wind.
  21. Mainly cloudy, cool and breezy here, a little brightness at the moment. There may be a few drops of rain shortly, and the forecast for the weekend is slowly going downhill little by little with each forecast, in terms of warmth and sun, so any barbecue is looking like a no no. Temp - 10.8C.
  22. What a contrast from yesterday, it's dull, misty and a more of a breeze so hence feels a bit cooler than yesterday morning. Temp 9.4C.
  23. Beautiful here this morning, bit cool, but skies are crystal clear. Temp, 10C.
  24. Next couple of days are set to be ok, temp may reach 20C.
