  1. Lovely! Forecast app says dry with no rain (pinch of salt with apps), radar shows no rain and yet it's chucking it down in Peterborough. This summer bar a couple of good weeks has been depressing, I've already in my head written off summer, very difficult to be positive over any good weather on horizon. Quite clearly our new weather extreme will be rain and as well as it being changeable very quickly.
  2. I love to be positive about the future but honestly its like ground hog day all summer. Day 10 day 10 day 10 day 10 day 10, for it to flop as usual, personally I think for round my neck of the woods this summer has been totally rubbish bar a couple of weeks. No consistency with dry and warmer weather, looking at the week ahead then I would say rather depressive, and the future good forecasts keep shutting down.
  3. Well that's two fantastic storms that have come over now, and looking at the rain radar, more keeps on building. second storm chucked a lot of hail out, all the lightning seems intra cloud and not overly loud. Still very good though.
  4. Well today...... today around my neck of the woods has been very nice after a slightly gray start and even that wasnt that bad. Yet last few days forecasting right up till this morning was at best terrible lol. Forecasts have been rather over dramatized for today IMO lol.
  5. Clouds growing again today, not quite like yesterday but kinda looks promising. Fingers crossed.
  6. Been out and about with a friend, Grafham water then up towards kettering, quite a good chunk of the storms ended up getting quite close to home, home now and it's rumbling in all directions. A massive smile on my face.
  7. Keeping fingers crossed bud, think I got lucky in raunds lol, if it had been my day off I'd of seen nothing as of yet lol.
  8. Got soaked in raunds, large clap of thunder as I was driving to depot in lorry. About to clock out, looking at the precip chart, looks like I'm just west on anything of popping off, though early days.
  9. Wow that was very quick, fingers crossed we may get something for southern midlands.
  10. Plenty of cloud bubbling up all over the place today and very quickly, will the maintain or will they fold flat as quick as they went up? Guess we shall need to wait and see..
  11. Already seeing some of this light convection from the get go this morning, I think all week we will have this ever so slight possibility of the odd later afternoon storm, but its only very slight i'd say.
  12. Any ideas how far north these storms may travel? I guess not overly far, wondering if they may work there way as far as Northants?
  13. Just as I'm about to drive up to North Wales for a couple of days! Couldn't make it up
  14. I feel the same, two glorious weeks felt like just a bit of luck, seems like it's been difficult to get anything settled this time round. The nice parts of April would of been good had it not been for the cold, similar to that of 2020. Our weather has become so mobile and hard to predict, the mobility and location on the hemisphere I guess would mean a much more unsettled climate. I really do hope this is it for summer, guess we still have time yet for it to change.
  15. Once again anything thundery forecasted for around here disappears on the day, can't see anything happening around here. Maybe south coast some where might see something as usual and that's only a "might".
  16. I swear that's how forecasting is done these days lol, bbc app for example is always wrong and can give a dry day, will then just update as it happens
  17. The situation with this band of rain seems to be changing some what now, the bulk of the crud is pushing on north with the a lot of intense showers being left behind and building quickly. Direction appears to be north and north west, will be interesting if the yellow warning for thunderstorms where justified or not. Do not have much hope for it all but again we watch. To add, I have witnessed days like this in years gone by where most of the early day was plagued by relentless rain and then for their to be brief clear spell in afternoon and I mean very brief for then to be followed by thunderstorms in the latter part of day.
  18. Well not sure what to expect, it has been very much a Kent and very very south east affair. We'll done some good photos. Honestly thought we may of seen more a bit further west, should of known better. Not sure I'm feeling confident of anything early hours as described in forecasts looks messy. The stuff in channel looks like it may take Similar track towards Kent. Let's wait and see.
  19. That or maybe or elevated storms more or less home grown ahead of it.
  20. Anything for central England, hang fire. That lot currently crossing on the P&O ferry is the first little lot for south east, More destabilization further west through the night should occur, hopefully.
  21. The way all this has yo yo'd left to right and back again, continuously each day. I would think now casting is where its at, I think its anyone's game from as far as Southampton pushing towards Kent and heading north north east. Really looking forward to this evening and I hope all of us can be within a shout.
  22. The buzz and hype is here, and we are close to the exciting time. Fingers crossed it ends up being better than predicted and more of us can see some of the fire works, including those slightly further west.
  23. Looks like a major shift eastwards in charts over night, clipping Kent and into South East anglia. Fingers and toes crossed for some changed in the coming hours.
