  1. Proper deluge over SW London at the moment. Torrential. 9c.Looks like it ll brighten up later for a nice afternoon. Late next week still looking very interesting.
  2. Agree with both these posts. This weekend is of no interest to me snow wise. Even if it does snow temps back up to 12c early next week. From Feb 1st certainly looks very interesting. Always fancied Feb as the month that would deliver. Certainly a very wet spell just now. 14mm last night. Allotment looking ready for some serious work. Over there a while ago with a mate, day off work, and its certainly a tad wet and muddy. 13c.Ideal for outdoors working.
  3. 7c and drizzle just now in the capital. Mild day ahead. Usable as they say. Lots of rain in the forecast for the next few days. Windy at times too. No issues with water restrictions next summer. February looking very interesting according to Met Office extended outook. Those extended forecasts been remarkably accurate this winter.
  4. Looking forward to some mild wet weather now to be honest. Sunday's snow was nice while it lasted but too brief of an event to even classify it as such. No point in it being cold without some snow so bring on the wet mild weather. At least you know where you are with that. Rain currently approaching and 1c. Still frosty with frozen snow patches.
  5. Certainly nice to see the sun still shining at gone 4pm. 7c just now.
  6. We are living in a very risk averse world. Just can't see it happening. No scientific reason. Its just that they are flip flopping all over the place, at 36 hours out. Seriously lads! Sunny and 6c in SW London.
  7. Seriously. Theres not a chance. Just wont be cold enough. Hail shower at best. I still have a good feeling about February mind. Still only mid January. Plenty of time for a wintry spell.
  8. Couldn't agree more. The Met along with the BBC/Meto are buying into the need to sensationalise everything. Yes, it has been a bit wet lately and another few damp daya aren't going to cause many problems. Their rainfall totals are way out too. Given that the weather is coming in from the SW there's no excuses. Less drama and more accuracy I say. Looks like they've made a cats backside of their forecast for further north too.
  9. Well I'm just glad Sky News told us where the Sahara desert is. Who'd have known.
  10. Not going to be that much rain in SE over the next few days despite the drama and histrionics on here and elsewhere. Patch rain and drizzle mostly. Breezy and mild. 12c currently in the capital. May take tomorrow off work and start some early spring allotment work.
  11. Some great pics of rain on here. Cheers. Always new there would never be any snow in the capital. Not disappointed in the slightest Expected nought. 6c and drizzle here just now.
  12. Turns to snow as soon as it hits Belgian coast. Plenty of snow up nort but mostly high up i believe. Lots a flooding around the south east.
  13. Just glad i dont mind dull wet and windy weather. Never disappointed. Yes, a good harsh cold snowy spell would be great. Put perhaps not just now. What with the numbers of people trying to get vaccinated and queuing up at hospitals etc. Cold freezing winter can wait till next winter when this is all over. Just my opinion mind.
  14. Not that unusual. Madrid is inland and 2500asl. London, for example,is about 30asl.
  15. How come the met office forecast for 'a dry evening with a few coastal showers' was so off the mark. Imagine if temps/dps were a few degrees lower there would have been chaos.
  16. That forecast is for the Saturday before Christmas that year 2010, London done pretty well that day, about 10-12cms. The big flop you may be referring to was the first week in December, same year, when everywhere south of Croydon got hammered, Gatwick for example had about 30cm while London got absolutely zilch, well maybe a cm or two. Feb 2009....that was the big one for London.
  17. October was only the second month this year with above average rainfall in London, the other one being February. Probably end up being a slightly drier year than the long term average. As i said the other day on here, we need wet autumns in SE England. Dont think we'll be needing the arc just yet.
  18. With the greatest respect mate, its October, just normal autumnal weather. More to come ovet the weekend though very mild. 16c in the capital now with drizzly rain. I imagine you were taken to Sussex as a baby and didn't travel on your own?
  19. Doubt if there will be any 21c around if the GFS 00z is correct. Much more plausible in my opinion given current situation. Summer is over.
  20. Well at least it looks like some lively weather on the way from mid next week onwards. Been really nice this last few days, cool too, but time for a change. I have a good feeling about this winter weatherwise. Bearing in mind most folk dont like snowy frigid weather ( apart from most of us on here) i can see it being a brutal winter. It will just be another problem for the government to try to deal with and mess up. There's no scientific basis to my projection whatsoever. Just a hunch.
  21. Its coming into autumn now. If you want 12 months of summer then you are in the wrong country mate. GFS looks great this morning. Proper autumn weather at last.
  22. Finally some proper weather. Gone is the stiffling heat. Spectacular rain storm yesterday evening and blowing a gale today. 21c so still warm. Big cool down at the weekend, then that's it for summer 2020. Plenty more rain in forecast too which is needed.
