  1. Or to their second jobs before rush hour. That list of 'shouts' above says it all. Drama drama drama.
  2. Mate, when I used to live up north west London I was regularly woken by the sound of breaking glass and it wasn't the wind.
  3. Remember that in the 87 storm winds gusted to 94mph in Central London! Won't he anywhere near that. Though that was at 2am when folk were in bed or at least indoors.
  4. Lovely pics but that top picture is awesome mate. You should hold on to that. Fab!
  5. Sounds like hell to me all that heat. And then there is the flip flop issue that I could go on about but won't.
  6. London currently the warmest place in most of Europe just now. On the 1st February. Great.
  7. Isn't it strange. The climate change/global warming brigade used to go on about how much wetter and stormier these islands would become due to a much more powerful Atlantic. Recent years its been practically dead for months on end. I suppose if you name every 'storm' it adds to the non existant drama. Just saying.
  8. True that. Looking back through the records it's extremely rare to have 2/3 extremely cold winter months. 62/63 and 78/79 being the exception. Even the famous winter of 1947 had quite a bland January. And the oft talked about 09/10 and 10/11 Winters only had a very cold snowy couple of weeks , perhaps a few more up north. London forecast high for the next 6/7days is around 5c. Boring I know but below normal. Plenty of time for fun and games yet. I've seen the models being wrong before.
  9. Absolutely true. Just have a look at the webcams on windy.com,plenty of places getting buried in snow with bitter cold. And not the usual suspects either. Our turn in these islands will come, eventually.
  10. Ah cheers mate for digging round. Top man. Bad news that, I've been using it since about 2014,I've always found it by far the best. Mind you it's not the best weather to be checking the quality of other radar sites.
  11. Anyone else noticed that Raintoday is no longer working and a site called Weatherpro appears?
  12. Can't imagine many on there were even born in 1985,or 1995 for that matter.
  13. Folk often forget January 2013 in London for snow. Friday to Tuesday I think. Good fall. Mid month. Can't remember the date. Older folk say and met records back it up, the 70s were virtually snowless in London and southeast so a run of snowless years not unusual in these parts.
  14. Fascinating reading all that and cheers for posting these reports. What fascinates me is that given folk talk about how cold December 1981 was the temperature readings don't look that low. All through that by now infamous cold week in that December the temperature in London always got to just above freezing. Would be great to hear what others think or indeed remember. Keep posting these as I say. Great reading!
  15. Well finally we look to be getting some interesting weather down here. Next week looking tasty. Wet and wild. Love that with the odd surprise thrown in. This last month has been soooo tedious so bring on the Atlantic.
  16. I thought looking at the map the SE being left out of the warning area was a bit random. Until I seen the extreme NW tip of Scotland also left out. Now that's random!!
  17. True that. I always think its best to get the storms in autumn then let winter proper take its course. This year like so many others will have an Atlantic storm dominated December to February. Might pop into the mod thread and mention that.
  18. That's a great picture. Seriously. And nice to see a blue sky!
  19. To be honest, not that bothered about whether it's going to get cold or not. I just want rid of this boring day in day out sameness. I'd even take some drizzle and a slight breeze. It's November for goodness sake, liven up weather. Do SOMETHING.
  20. There will be a few of them in the next few days too. And some eggs on faces.
  21. Met Office just not interested in very cold spell. Just normal coldish end Nov beginning of December. Those folks over on the model thread are completely bonkers to think otherwise. Someone on there even said the met had got it wrong!! I wonder what age are most of them?
  22. Here's the met office extended forecast from this day 11 years ago.
