  1. The latest output would tend to suggest that the SE will do well to hit 27c on Saturday. The Midlands northwards 20c max. All downhill then from Sunday. One day wonder hot spell.
  2. Yes indeed. Just forecasting isolated showers now for tommorow. Beginning to wonder if we will ever see any meaningful rain here in the capital.
  3. Couldn't agree more. I think the moderators, like the usual posters on there, have a weird desire to live in a scorched parched dust bowl. And woe betide anyone who posts otherwise. Sad demise of what used to be a good site.
  4. @Badgers01Did the little fella vote? He might as well have given the bonkers mess we are in! 25.2c now in South London. Just hot enough for me. Not an oppressive heat which is good.
  5. 25c just now in the capital. Not an oppressive heat either. Fair weather cloud. Very nice.
  6. My point is illustrated perfectly below. It's the Met Office forecast issued this day last week. As anyone can see, it's inaccurate in the extreme. That's my point. The early part of the week was supposed to be unsettled and showery. Best week of the summer so far. Thursday 23 May - Saturday 1 June Thursday sees a gradual return to more unsettled conditions. Early rain in the north will clear leaving a few showers. Elsewhere after a mostly dry morning with sunny spells, strengthening winds will spread cloud and rain northeastwards across many west and southwestern parts of England and Wales. This more changeable weather is expected to continue into the Bank Holiday weekend with all parts seeing rain or showers at times, although by Monday the southwest should see some drier and brighter, more settled conditions. Through the rest of the period, confidence is low, but it is probable that the weather will change only slowly, with drier more settled spells occasionally interspersed by wetter, more unsettled weather. Temperatures are likely to be close to or slightly above average. https://www.metoffice.gov.uk
  7. This time last week and over the weekend they were predicting a wet and windy Bank Holiday weekend, now its forecasting just scattered outbreaks of rain... in the North. Look, its always going to be fairly miserable weatherwise north of the Watford gap anyway so I suppose they are accurate when they say it's going to be pretty awful up there. I was talking about down here where the vast majority live.
  8. They could not predict a pint in a pub. None of ofthem.Including the publicly funded Met Office. Useless and perhaps more useless than 10 years ago.
  9. They are probably panicked by the latest long term met office forecast which is pretty woeful it must be said, if its summer weather you are chasing. There will be a fair chunk of summer gone if that forecast is in anyway accurate. And that is what the models are showing.
  10. Great pic. Sky is a wonderful colour today to be fair. Oxshott a lovely place. I used to go dirt biking near there about 10 years ago. Doubt if the track still there. Knowle Hill think it was.
  11. Looks like we are going to have to wait some time yet for the rain here in the south east. 18.4c now in the capital. Could be a warm one. Turning out to be a dry warm and sunny week.
  12. True. Given the forecast last Thursday was for a few days of sunny spells and heavy showers, it's come to nought. Really really poor forecasting yet again. I think they should just use the same forecast for the SE England 365 days of the year: '' Mostly dry but with the risk of drizzle at times'' ' Risk' being their word not mine
  13. Nice drop of rain just now. Save me watering the allotment . Yeah!!
  14. No thank god! Imagine the tedium of that. I work on the tops of buildings alot, cooling tower maintenance, so relentless strong sun can be a pain in the harris.
  15. Nice to see some clouds building up today to relieve the tedium of endless blue skies and blazing sun. Hopefully some showers moving in later.
  16. Another good heavy shower coming through now. Ground soaking it up nicely. Will get some allotment digging done after work methinks, perfect weather for it. Another deluge forecast for tomorrow night but I'm not sure about that, they are not great at forecasting those fast evolving situations. Here's hoping.
  17. Some good beefy showers running through now. Nice top up of rain after yesterday's 13mm. No thunder and lightning yet but the much needed rain will do for now.
  18. Yes indeed. Its looking increasingly likely that next weeks drier spell will be shortlived. Met Eireann are saying it will be 'brief'. I'm expecting a major downgrade from Exeter in the next day or two. As expected.
  19. Great deluge here in the capital now, hopefully last a while. The ground and vegetation certainly needs it. Looking at the met office outlook it looks like after next week's brief dry spell there may be plenty more of this.
  20. Hopefully this is a pretty accurate prediction from GFS. We could do with several wet episodes like this, not sure if one or two wet days will be sufficient. We need several weeks of sustained rainfall.
  21. Cheers for the allotment tips about the spuds. Covered mine over a bit yesterday evening just in case. Probably won't get as cold here than when you are. I put my seedlings in the shed. Can't be bothered hawking them over and back to the house! We could do without the frost and could do with a good deluge of rain. Seriously dry now!!
  22. Great looking charts this morning. And about time too. We desperately need some rain down here.
  23. Big swing to much more unsettled weather for next 7-10 day now showing on the charts. Could be a sign of things to come for the summer. I feel its going to be a mixed and changeable one.
  24. Goodness me, they are starting to quote the express over on the MAD thread. Desperate times indeed.
