  1. You can't ignore me your a Mod, will have to put up with me! ha We need some amusement, the Midlands 'might' get a covering today and we will miss out. I remember last Thursday.....those charts look amazing!
  2. Sorry people, only joking. I was getting ready for February.....
  3. PPN showing on the Radar around Bristol area. Nothing falling from the sky though....well the odd spot.
  4. There isn't one. Just normal winter fare, with coldish nights (odd frost) sunny spells and rain.
  5. Yes, but....I think we are missing the 'cold' bit too! This is just normal winter January weather! Anyway don't panic, there is another SSW warming forecast at 384 hours, we will be saved!!! Won't be long and massive blocking will appear to the north.......haha.
  6. And what effect did it have on the UK? Never mind the UK, I suppose we are still waiting for the 'blocking' to appear over higher latitudes (maybe Greeland) from that event? Or because the vortex was split, blocking won't happen? Or are we expecting 'blocking' to occur once this event verifies? This cooler period surely has no relation to the previous 'half SSW'?
  7. Yep. No frost here either +1.6 overnight. Looking at the rest of the week, hardly a frost in sight and temps not that cold at 5-6 - When does the 'cold' spell suppose to start? This whole cold spell has turned into just one event as S.Murr has been posting on the MO Thread. Where this snow event will occur. The spine of the country might see a bit of snow but that's it. SW winds by the weekend according to the output, so putting this week down as a bit of a colder week. I'm hoping for just dry weather now.
  8. Lots of talk of Scandinavia Highs making a huge an influence. Heard that so many times on this forum over the years. The high never does, the Atlantic always comes in. It's like the last chance salon to try and convince ourselves the cold will stay put (not that cold as it stands) or get colder due to Scandi highs.
  9. Well I guess the weather fans in northern Spain and North Africa will also be excited about the potential on that chart!
  10. Yes..but the snow won't settle with temps above freezing. U just get horrid wet snow and lots of puddles.
  11. Agreed. I will post my high and low temps next Saturday from the next 7 days to gauge (imby) the period purely on temperature. Disregarding what falls from the sky, temperature is the key for me whether it's a cold spell or a cooler period.
  12. Can't see too many hard frosts this week due to cloud cover. Plenty of dampness due to rain and some sunny spells, coldish days but nothing that cold. 4-5 degrees seems a normal temp for middle of Jan, slightly below average. Other areas of the UK will see some more snowfall, but for our area, Bristol surrounding, pretty much run of the mill cold winter pattern ahead. Much more wintry over elevation, but wet to low levels with the odd bit of wintryness mixed in. At the end of the day it's just not forecast to be cold enough for our area, simple as that.
  13. Terrible wet cold day. Max temp 6.4. Not expecting temps to drop much below 3 degrees over night.
  14. Great post. Yep...waiting 2 years for the same, some wet flakes. The only reason why it settle was due to the slight frost overnight. Now its like a normal cold wet morning in Winter!
  15. No in a Village, Yatton. 100 yards from the moor fields. My father has a davis vantage pro 2 in his paddock (moors) and a sensor in his garden. His lowest temp last night was -0.7 in the paddock, -0.6 in his garden.
  16. At you height and location. Temps only got down to -0.3 last night.
