  1. When is the express going to print about the upcoming heat wave??
  2. Think you need to check again. Thats the Jan, Feb. March chart. December the blocking begins to evolve. November zonal.
  3. http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/research/climate/seasonal-to-decadal/gpc-outlooks/ens-mean All there for you guys. but here's a taste:
  4. UK MET still going for a zonal November, then blocking to appear in December and strengthen through into Jan & Feb. Good enough for me.
  5. Never mind the papers say, this winter is getting massively hyped up on here, let's keep our feet on the ground. Having said that, the UK met long range charts are showing some promise. If the UK met are not on board with something more seasonal, then all other long range forecasts from other sources showing cold need taking with caution. I think the UK met got 09/10 bang on.
  6. Think your profile name says it all.
  7. Sorry but makes absolutely no sense. Where did you copy and past that from?
  8. Not according to the UK MET.
  9. ha, couldn't get a more IMBY post! No falling snow (ok sletty wet flakes with rain mixed in) and lying snow in North Somerset last winter except on the Mendip hills.
  10. Sorry cant find the chart. Its here on this video - at 17mins 55 Seconds. http://www.gavsweathervids.com/winter2015-16-forecast-uk.php
  11. UK Met going for a colder than average winter due to blocking to the north. Good enough for me. Please could someone post the chart.
  12. A large cold pool in the Atlantic was very common in the 80's. This is nothing new.
  13. Everything you see is the colour it because of the part of the spectrum it is attracting. For example a leaf on a tree is green because it is attracting the green part of the spectrum, not because its 'green'. With no moonlight (the sun's reflection of the spectrum) everything is dark, so without 'fake light' everything will be pitch black.
  14. Indeed the warm could win out, but its not going to get warmer in that region due to the time of year. But the question is, what is feeding that cold pool?
  15. What sort of el nino are you talking about? A modoki el nino could produce something much different to forecast of no snow this winter!!!
  16. Shift west - modoki (could be interesting)
  17. Sure about that? As the previous poster suggested, the warm water that has been present off the West coast of the US has caused High Pressure in that region. Therefore helping to create the harsh winters in central and north eastern parts of the US for the last three winters.
  18. Looking like hints of cooling off the coast of Peru. We could end up with a central based El Nino therefore a Modoki. This could be interesting...........
  19. You must be a bag of nerves come November 1st each year! Maybe you should move to deepest Cornwall.
  20. Don't know about you but quite a large majority of snow fans on here only view the 'snow' on a monitor, even if it's pouring down outside and settling they still keep glued to the radar to see when it may stop or start again. Go out and enjoy it, this forum should be dead quiet for a particular area when snow is falling and settling!
  21. Yes, but last year was negative and was over-ridden by other factors. This year could be positive and other factors come into play bringing more 'seasonal' weather.
