I can definately remember having days off in the 1980's. Usually because "the boiler was broken" or some other such excuse.Β
That old chestnut I was born in 1988, so i'm more of a 90's kid, but I remember that one being used a fair bit

It's hammering it down with rain here but the temperature hasn't gone above 1c all day and evening. It just feels wrong that we have rain at 1c normally always snows at that tenperature.Β

More than decent mate!!better than the 00z!!gives us 10-15cms !!
I'd be amazed if we saw that after the thaw we'll get before it turns back to snow from 3am onwards. We'd need a solid 6 hours of moderate to heavy snowfall. I'd love to be proven wrong though

Drizzly rain here now and i'm not liking the look of that heavy rain approaching. Going to wash this away

I love how there's a dry patch now after that heavy snow shower has cleared. It may thaw out slowly but at least it won't be rain to wash it away!

I was worried that the blob of heavy precip would be rain and start to wash away the snow, but thankfully it wasn't. Hopefully once this clears, it will stay mostly dry until tomorrow morning when it turns back to snow.

The line between rain and snow must literally be about 5 miles South of here We still have snow grains falling but Hinckley, 13 miles to the South, had rain

Still snowing here in Ratby. Very surprised at that considering you're only 20 mins down the road!

Turning sleety here for certain. Best hope ideally would be for the precip to clear until this evening. What time do the charts show colder air moving back in by?
It's still snow here in Ratby, around 20 miles North of you. Not a good sign for me though if the sleet line is that close already
-
It'll be gutting if it does turn to rain and sleet soon, because that stuff coming out of Wales looks very heavy!

Might have to take a drive down that way, not settling in Loughborough at all itβs just wet
Really?! I know Ratby is a bit higher up than some surrounding areas, so maybe that's why. I bet Coalville has had it bad as well, they're slightly higher there.

Dying away here now. What a day, though!! Snowing non-stop since 11am. 12 hours it's a shame it didn't start to settle until 6pm. Could have had 15cm now instead of the 3-5cm we have still, cannot complain, it has been great.

Is it still snowing there? The radar suggests it's pretty much cleared Shrewsbury but I'm hoping it hasn't, as that means we could have longer until the snow clears, that the radar suggests
