Local south east for cast has us down for rain tonight. So does bbc news. Sun here as I type but radar says the snow is coming my way. Fingers crossed.

The met office have trained meteorologist to look at the data. They produce the fax charts. We have some former met office personnel posting on here and also professional weather forcasters who present weather on TV. We are very lucky to have them and their expertise. Hope that helps and your question.

SACRA doors will open up when there is a good chance of a good cold spell. The club room has been closed for too long. I am looking forward to greeting all new members in 2015. SQ1

I don't post on here much and after years of reading this thread i have noticed a pattern from some types of people. Why do people have to write off winter when it has hardly started? Just because one set of models says no perishing cold why does it have to be doom and gloom from some of you. I am looking at the charts and some days do not know one end or the other of the charts but i can tell you that they are not that bad to my untrained eye. We have some cool weather to come and it does not look very warm to me. We are in the middle of a big body of warm water and cannot expect days of unending snow and cold. I am happy this year is nothing like last year so can we please stop with the lets write off winter posts as they are just silly. Thanks

i hate to say it but i think we are out of luck tonight looking at the charts for us in Maidstone and the Medway towns it seems the ppn goes either side of us and will not even reach us when the wind changes direction because by then all the pnn will have gone. But looking on the bright side we in our little corner of the country always fair well for warm sunny dry weather in the summer when other parts of the country are getting soaking wet so swings in roundabouts lol. I like living in the SE just could do with more easterly winds just one year.

Cold here 4.5 deg wind slight overcast not very nice really. Had loads of rain last night high winds too. Not holding out much hope for today but am happy it is at least cold now. Have a good one

I have had a wet snow shower just now. It has eased off to Small flakes will not do much as the ground is wet but nice to see snow falling from sky even if it was for a few mins only.

Stop moaning snow freek. At least you have seen snow falling unlike some of us who may not see anything at all from this low. And winter has only just started so how can you comment on only having an hours worth of snow as bad. Your post do wind some people up. Just sit back and enjoy the ride there will be plenty more ups and downs before April arrives.

Bristol Boy FYI this year is sooo much better than last year. We are dry with no floods yet and snow in the forcast. Your area fairs better than my area every year. I know because i have a sister in Cheltenham who tells me what the weather is like there and you are not far from there really. Dont write off this winter yet it has only just started we still have more than 2 months of fun and games to look forward to. :smiliz19:

Yes it seems that way I have waited years for a summer like this down here sun warmth and storms it has been great!! Let's hope winter is just as good thunder snow is fab to go walking in lol.

Just read on the internet that Morrison's in Sutton road Maidstone has closed because the roof collapsed under the volume of rain that fell in a short time in Maidstone this morning.

Thunder lightening terrific rain fall but not much wind here right in the pink bit of the rain band.

I am missing all the showers too. lol I am having a BBQ tonight so hoping they will stay away from me. They seem to dissipate before they get to me dull and warm outside.

On Folkestone seafront watching storm roll in over channel not much lightning yet but the ones there are are big.
