  1. Sheffield and Yorkshire as a whole wasn't forecast anything until the small hours of the morning. These warm front storms are a bit of a bonus really. Please read the forecasts on here!
  2. This post must be reverse psychology, or you've not looked at the forecast, precip models or the radar at all. Plenty of action further south tracking northwards at the moment Have faith!
  3. Looks like you won't need to move from your position as those south coast storms are tracking right this way. I'll head to the Peaks for a nice view south should they survive the 200+ mile trip up north, which is easily possible if they turn supercellular.
  4. Seems that way judging by TORRO's diagram. I'm keeping an eye on the channel/Dorset storms as they will likely track close to our locations later on (hopefully with able backup!)
  5. Absolutely. Watching them intensify as they head north. No doubt they'll veer a little NE later, which if they continue to grow and fire off more cells will determine if I stick or twist with regards to chasing tonight.
  6. Just a bonus though, the real action for Midlands northwards is later tonight Humidity will shoot through the roof, too, plenty of reports further south and west describing the humidity.
  7. I have a love/hate relationship with this sort of time, when we're waiting for storms to develop but still not sure where the most severe/active ones will be. I'm staying put for now though, hopefully in an hour or two the picture will be clearer.
  8. First signs of a line of cells/storms/showers/chickens/whatever developing north of Swansea down towards Exeter with more cells firing north of Plymouth, moving NNE. Next few hours will be interesting, and pivotal!
  9. Congrats on predicting the record temps, but it's a little premature to verify your prediction tonight, seen as most of the severe action isn't until midnight onwards. You could be right of course, but as of now, it's still a prediction and nothing more Nothing is set in stone!
  10. Still waiting, but likely to head to Lincs (I realise that is much closer for me than you!). I'm getting the feeling that east will be best going by the latest output. There will be surprises though, there always are!
  11. Wondering whether to hang on here in Sheffield or head ESE to Lincs. Still got a few hours to decide, mind you!
  12. Yeah, or Lincolnshire! I'm spoilt for choice to be honest, but all is ready to go later so I'll draw up a short list of places to stop at should everything go to plan
  13. Or, further north just east of Newark-on-Trent with clear views to the south on the roads there.
  14. Yeah that's the only thing really with Grantham being further south, I don't want to punch through any storm, rather sit and wait as it comes to me. So further north but a similar distance east might suit as well.
  15. Yes, I'm broadly looking at the situation the same as you I'm staying put now in Sheffield this evening, but I have somewhere around Grantham in mind should the severe stuff kick off further east. I'm looking at quiet b-roads near Grantham to put in my satnav just n case!
  16. Amazing video! You weren't wrong about the language warning, but somehow it makes it better
  17. Considering the models are in disarray at t+24-36 regarding tomorrows stormy precipitation, it's wise to exercise caution with regards to the general pattern next week, as changes are expected (not necessarily favourable ones either), but a shift of a few hundred miles either way could make or break our summer conditions later next week. As always, the further south and east you are, the warmer and more pleasant it is likely to be
  18. Positive Lifted Index inland? That's not good, right? I know other parameters are in play but I thought a negative LI was important?
  19. Thanks! The only annoying thing was the occasional car coming towards me which would shine at the camera lens but I can't complain really, I just had to zoom in a couple of times to avoid the glare. Here's hoping for more on Friday night. I'm going to have a trawl later on for videos as I'm sure there is footage better than mine out there. I have more snippets of video which I will go through.
  20. Ha, that's my video! I did a rubbish job of embedding it on the previous storm thread so thanks for sharing I was in awe last night, one of the best storms I have ever seen and I was quite glad I wasn't underneath it given some of the damage reported!
