    I find the GFS hard to read for uppers but one of the other models (not sure which) which distributes numbers showed coastal uppers of about -4. So looking good.

    Absolute beginner here but, for tomorrow, 1. 850's are still sub zero, look like -5 to me? 2. Air is stil cold. Feels colder today and maxes of 2 degrees or so? 3. Massive amount of precipitation looks to me? Tomorrow looks potentially v nasty.

    I had 2 degrees yesterday. Ice and snow I reckon depleted by around 70%.

    Tomorrow should be interesting. Teaching at the top of Penylan Hill until at least 4:30 pm. Gonna load the car with essential winter gear just in case.

    I've been snow touring today, took in Gilfach, Porth, Ponty, Peterston and Cardiff. There was little not passable where I went. And all the supply teachers live in Cardiff anyway And school's are not teacher specific. My bro has been digging himself out of Caerphily to get to Bridgend all week. I cannot believe all the closed schools have mountain dwelling teachers exclusively.

    Just to give some views on the "thaw." I ran last Monday, beautiful day, crisp, gorgeous. Super day to be alive. And utterly freezing. Today, crap, overcast, miserable, thawing. Bitter in the wind. My recollection is that last Monday was a max of 2 degrees. Today was the same. Whilst the snow is melting this is no mild spell.

    Original METO warning was effective from 18:00 tonight wasn't it? It's snowing NOW and looks like it could get heavier. A slight thaw is expected in warmer cloud conditions as well? Nothing to worry about just yet.

    If I get my 10 miler in tomorrow that will be around 40 miles this week. In snow cover. If you can run in snow you can run in anything! Bring it on GFS

    Malice? In a personal injury claim? Not needed at all. You just have to show that a duty of care is owed, that the duty was breached and that the accident was reasonably forseeable. At the moment, taking reasonable efforts to clear your entrance would be enough. Courts are very unlikely to sympathise very much.

    There's a discussion on dam lines in the model thread. They are A factor but not the factor. I suspect for next week they'll mean very little.

    Met have Cardiff down as -6. I'm going to stick my neck out and say that inland areas including the valleys could see -10 easily.
