Worse being relative. Mumbles is showing gusts of 75mph. North Wales about 85. Aberdaron much worse but to be expected. It's about as bad down here as I can recall in terms of sustained wind speed and gusts.
It's worrying, it will cause damage somewhere. I love weather of this type but would rather it didn't happen, in all reality. But, can I say, who on earth doesn't have enough food to last a few days?!?!??!
Indeed. Though it makes it sound like a long period. It is in fact only 29th July - 3rd August.
Does anyone know the verification stats of the long range ensembles? What did they say about our current hot spell, for example?
No. The Welsh Assembly Government is the Executive branch of Government in Wales. It creates policy and writes laws which, in turn, are considered by the National Assembly for Wales. The Welsh Assembly Government "trades" as the Welsh Goverment. Carwyn is the First Minister of the WG.
The National Assembly for Wales it the legislative branch. It considers the laws written by the WG. Carwyn is an Assembly Member of the NAW in addition to being 1st Minister for Wales of the WG.
Talking to the "Assembly" (the term for the legislative branch down the Bay) won't get you very far.
Been out on the bike. Went through a mega squall. Massive hail and very scary winds. Possibly the most extreme weather I can recall ever being out in. All of 5 minutes but it was like something out of Twister.
Well, I've just cycled back from central Cardiff to Pencoed. Snow was pretty consistent all the way save for central Cardiff itself. Pretty impressive totals perhaps slightly less than 2010. Other places Northwards look significantly worse than 2010.
It was certainly no 1982 but, IMO, the additional traffic and housing has a big effect on lying snow now.
Piece of cake usually. Nice now that the nights have almost lengthened to a 5 pm sunset. So if I leave at 4 I get home in something resembling light.
Ride in is still somewhat dark mind...............
