The air here is relatively cold but not awfully so. The front draws air from France where it's exceptionally cold. The cooling is happening now.
Don't worry, there'll be snow. The only "marginal places" are the absolute coasts and SW. But even then it's a question of how much snow.
I love the Graig. It's one of my alternative ways home on the bike. Starts easily enough. Then you get to the old pub and it steepens. Then round the corner and it's as steep as anything around. A superb workout.
Massively better this morning. Our river has dropped back into the acceptable "normal" range. Loads of flooding and more rain on the way but the SUDS stuff appears to have worked very very well indeed.
Pretty dire in Pencoed this morning but the SUDS systems and flood defences seem to be holding up very well.
River appears to have peaked and has fallen back 10cm in the hour. (It having risen by a metre in only a couple of hours).
Huge amounts of flooding but not broken its bank at least on the northern side.
Indeed not, I was pointing it out for clarification. But, as John has said, it wasn't that bit he was talking about. Which means quoting the bit you think is daft is important. Anyway, we're way OT now.
And another week passes.
Two certs you can bank on, Dragon Ride this Sunday, it's normally "ok" for weather. Never great, never really awful (save for one year).
Next weekend is the interesting one. My weeks holiday in West Wales. 5th year now. Every one has been brilliant. Every year we go a slightly different week (last year we went at Easter as well and that was incredible).
Can our luck hold?
