Out of curiosity why do you think we need a SSW ??? we were in a hell of a run of mild swly winds and this cold snap came from nowhere without the help of any SSW
ok..........up to 1700 it has . It has been consistent in its story...............which is what my post said...................GFS has jumped all over the shop , which is why I said well done UKMO..............I'm not alone with those thoughts I should add
To be fair UKMO has come out on top, it sang the same song for days with this. GFS picked every option going and of course at some point the Atlantic would creep back in. GFS has had a go at that outcome everyday at some point.
Well done UKMO
Confused now
@Ashleig95425772 oh & incidentally: slower retreat of cold *still* signalled by 12z UKMO-GM Parallel Suite; JMA; & MOGREPS is split 50-50... latest tweet by Ian F
Ian / Melanie or Shropshire whatever his name is has slaughtered UKMO over on TWO, too be honest its a very early call to say the Atlantic will be back in by Monday.
Beeb still going for cold for a while
If they are 24 hours behind GFS then shouldn't it be showing what GFS did at 12z yesterday???? bloody awful.
Would you have said this after last nights 18z
Quite an incredible turn around , really does get your head spinning at times.
As for snow this week, I'm not really sure what some are expecting , me, just snow falling is a bonus , is or will it be cold enough???? not sure anyone really knows.
As Darren on TWO quite rightly points out they areverification stats for the NH we are a tiny piece of that and the difference is naff all so saying x beat y and a beat c is pointless really.
Yes, another good run from UKMO , quite incredible how at 6 days out we have such a difference between GFS and our own..........let's be clear here we are well into FI
It depends what you were expecting really , for me just a lowering of temps day and night will do for starters . Fax charts are always a good indication and 'live' weather forecasts too
