Its worth pointing out to you that a straight Northerly isn't that good for parts of the South, unless you are on a mountain of very favoured coasts, I should also point out to you that January , February and March are often better months for the UK as a whole .
That is laughable really have a look at charts from yesteryear you will always find ones that suggest constant zonality only for something to appear a few weeks later, have a look at charts from early January 1991 , strong W/NWly winds, no one ever saw what was around the corner in February.
So you comment of we need something soon.....................isn't exactly correct......................is it.
Not too sure what people are looking at when they mention mild??
Of course , what is peoples perception of mild, in terms of temps?? 8c upwards??

Certainly some chillier air over the UK
For the uneducated on here can you please post some charts to back this comment up. Are you trained in meteorology?? Just interested as you seem quite confident and bullish in you post.
Thanks
But you are in Ireland , I think that reflects the models as they stand at the minute, but for us here in England I would say we are very much under the influence of the HP, into the N Year at least
If that is the case certainly NO mention from JH on the Beeb, I am sure if snow was a possibility for that part of the world it would have been mentioned by now ??
You could argue the same about GFS if it turns out it has modelled the positioning of this LP all wrong , at the moment it is at odds to GFSP / ECM and UKMO
