    Still no massive trend back to milder weather yet... For fun this at +243 - Midlands to the South would be good.. If anything like some of these charts come off we are going to see more and more chances of wintry stuff.

    Can see showers moving down from NE on radar, a little too far East for most of the Midlands maybe. Will keep an eye on it! Some seem to intensify in land? (correction, they're not ) Edit - too far East! Too far West this morning. Notts, Leics, Coventry etc.. In some sort of snow shielded corridor.

    Is that later in the week? Good to see the cold all the way into early January for now.

    Yeah, looking just now can see some activity NE (North sea coast).. There will be chances all week for the whole mids hopefully so back to being patient. I will no doubt consult the radar again later!

    struggling to work out where the precip is likely to come in from? Does not likely today for my neck of the woods. Models at short range are not suggesting anything either. Keeping the dream alive and hoping something totally random pops up later. Nice snow photos from across the mids today though

    GFS 12z, still cold out to +336. To my untrained eye, no real sign of mild for a change. This is unlike any recent winter since I've been watching on here. Take your pick for best charts at the moment.

    Possibly more as the day goes on, band of PPN slowly pivoting around, hard to track though. On a positive, it’s staying cold for now and more chances this week. ️

    completely missed us here! When I’ve woken up properly I will try and work out where the band is moving but is not coming this way! Looks ok for parts of Brum though

    Looking at radar out West in Irish Sea, that’s heading in but cannot be certain on track. Somewhere in Midlands though, not fully as modelled....

    Yep fingers crossed Its going to be down to nowcast now. some precip out West might make it further enough inland for some? Later or early tomorrow? Thinking positive thoughts

    Quick rain shower just now, hardly any cloud cover over us. 4c. On the edge for snow tomorrow if that’s what falls. Looking like an interesting period for the Midlands!

    GFS ensembles suggest some increasing pressures and a generally colder trend. Not deep cold though, at the moment. A promising trend still going out to more or less reliable. Loads to be resolved yet... I wouldn’t dismiss discussion as fantasising just yet, apart from those looking at a month of mild Atlantic driven weather.

    are these showers making it further inland then modelled/predicted? If so, good news for those in range who were not expecting it!! Doubt these would get as far as me and at my elevation. Patience, patience..

    Admitting a bit of envy for the NE seeing a bit of Snow right now... Our time will come... At least it is cold and dry out. Winter is more here!

    GFS 6z run so far, not mild again. Not super cold either but still better than a lot of recent winters. +105 is not too shabby... Keeping an eye on this! This is close range!! If it comes to nothing then, ok! Onwards to the next one, no loss. It's all good. Merry Christmas

    Hi! Could be, would it be possible as a result of timing of cold air moving in and precip? Certain I've seen similar in the past. Maybe just sleet. You never know and I just always live in hope like a big kid
