Why is it so warm in Liverpool? Noticed the past few days its been a couple of degrees higher there than a lot of other areas in the NW of England. Very odd to see Liverpool nearly equal to London during hot weather I always thought Liverpool was a cool place -

Scorchio weather on 18z, Not seen GFS churn out so many runs on the trot that are full of so much red crayon on the temperature charts since 2018. -

If people want a breakdown then so be it. We all have weather preferences. But there is no breakdown in the GFS 6z its a dream, just wall to wall blue skies throughout -

18Z looks like the Scandi and Azores are about to link up but it fails miserably right at the last minute , theres always one spanner from somewhere that has to come along and mess things up. -

I think it happened in June 2019 but a combination of North sea winds and it being too early in the year meant we missed out on high surface temperatures despite record breaking 850s over Britain -

Model watching is also like a box of chocolates - mostly full of empty wrappers and sweets that nobody wants because somebody else got there first and took all the good ones. -

July 2013 should've been much hotter with all the HP slap bang over the top of UK, it was even the middle of the peak summer month and yet barely anywhere else outside London got over 30C. Could that have been a result of a cold spring and low SSTs? -
I had a nightmare last night that summer '21 was the worst in any living memory, probably triple worst of 2012. Then I woke up and checked the charts and i instantly got that gut feeling that my nightmares are about to come true. I think this May will be the wettest on record and coldest in nearly 40 years as some news outlets are reporting.

BBC month ahead forecast is still looking about as worst as it can get. Nothing else to offer but a cool, unsettled start to meteorological summer and probably lasting all month too "The strongest signals are coming from the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean temperature anomalies and Indian Ocean rainfall patterns. These weather pattern support a cooler than normal June with high pressure often being a feature west of Europe. We expect we may see high pressure rebuild to the west towards mid-June, bringing another shot of colder Atlantic air and some unsettled weather."
