    What a mucky outlook on the BBC app for my area, nothing above 13C right out to the last week of May.. Disgusting.

    You don't really need a blistering hot summer heatwave to get very warm nights. 1st November 2020 was very warm night probably warmer than some nights during July 2018.

    Looking back at some of the best summers of the past i have always found it interesting how they are always paired with another good summer occurring within 3 years. 75/76, 83/84, 95/97 03/06 18/?? So if this is true then another decent summer is due this year.

    Today is the worst day of the spring so far in my opinion. Full on rain, very cold with some harsh wind. Only on a Bank Holiday.

    Well the sun certainly wasn't poking through at 5 am today while it was only 2c outside hence my meaning why it felt like January because of the temperature outside and hence why I said it was pretty obvious that it wasn't January because of daylight coming through and trees in bloom.

    The only thing making it obvious its late Spring right now is the daylight length and the trees half bloomed. Strange to see reasonable daylight length similar to that of mid Summer yet outside it feels like mid January.

    This is what happened in 2012, a hot spell in the final 10 days of May that got everyone on the edge of their seats thinking the next 1976 had arrived! Oh how wrong they were.

    The BBC monthly outlook looks decent for Mays End, High pressure building with Southerly air from Africa and Spain, expected to last a week or two. I'm all for that.

    I'd like to know where this big warm up is coming from that is supposed to be occurring in May? I've read so many newspaper articles on it lately yet I can't see any hint of it within the models. Am i missing something?

    Feb turned very cold but only after weeks of chasing cold like that. Models since Mid November were always showing cold and snowiest patterns out at Day 10 or beyond. I recall a few people saying in December "we were on the cusp of something special this Winter".

    Any significant rainfall in the models will likely just keep being pushed back. Saw it all winter with the cold and snow always being pushed back.

    I can't believe there's talk of reservoirs drying up already i would've thought they would be nicely full and topped up to last another 5 months.

    Spring isn't really a 'season' in my opinion, its just the motion of two main seasons Summer and Winter blended together as they slaughter it out with each day passing losing a little of Winter and gaining a little of Summer. I have a feeling this summer is going to be either one of worst ones or best ones on record, somehow it wont fall average. Also I hope there is no hot spell in late May or early June as hot spells during this period always seem to be cursed and a poor summer will follow.

    Just checked the temperatures in my bbc weather app, its just a continuous trot of days in singles digits to 10C right out to Middle of April. I'd take this now than in May or June. CFS longer term, just for fun shows a similar pattern this July which looks similar to the July of 2019 and 2020 with GB right beneath low pressure stuck between two wedges of high pressure one to the East and West. June looks like a decent month.

    Who cares if its going to be cold for a few days. The state some parks have been left in recently i think some folk deserve to be indoors.

    I think some places around Eastern Central England already exceeded 25C quite abnormal to see 25C in March and its usually in the London area not the Midlands getting the first 25C.

    I had a little chuckle at this chart. 20C in London while its just 3C in Lancashire at 18:00.

    ill be surprised if we get anything mid 30s this year we've been treated so generously in the past five years. Time for one of them years that fail to hit 30C.

    Maybe the beast has forgotten how to be a beast, because its always confined in its lonely cage every winter. It probably thought upon being unleashed, "oh crap what do i do now? how do you make snow? Which way is England?"
