  1. Yh a nice Imported T-Storm would be nice...............................Thats what you meant wasnt it The 2010 BBQ Was great as we all camped over in Evesham, and as we were putting tents up a Storm (Yes an actual English Thunderstorm) started to hit our location, everyone loved it!
  2. Why not try to combine it with the Netweather Stormchase BBQ Robin, you could be the host venue for 2013. Got a big meet up this weekend as well, about 25 of us descending on Brum for Saturday and Sunday in the Pre-Stormchase Meet Up.........Birmingham Good Luck you are going to need it!
  3. Yes but the Central Plains and Northern Plains end of May and June were fantastic in 2011, the added snowcover from the last week or so is only going to help in trapping moisture in the drought hit areas, 2010/2011 winter was not especially cold or snowy, whereas 2009/2010 was (Remember the -23c near Elk City that winter) If we can get some more active weather from the Sub Tropical Jet affecting Texas things can and will change very quickly.
  4. Damn Right Roger - Need all that moisture to seep into the ground, cold late winter and cold early spring for the Plains ?? Woohoo God Forsakane Place should be nuked! Boom Boom!
  5. Some amazing snow totals coming out of the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandle and parts of Kansas from this Storm, have heard of 4-5ft Drifts near Woodward for instance. Love it when the Plains gets mullered by snow in the late winter months, we always seem to have a good chase season after that, 2010 is a case in point after a very snowy 09/10 winter for Tornado Alley! 6. Was member number 11 or 12 or something like that back on the 27th February 2003, still remember those days when old Slow-Watch closed down and the majority moved over here, even in those days there were Mild Rampers like "Another Pint Of Mild" and mr crazys lootons snowfans etc My own little part in Netweather has been seeing the successfull side of getting the Storm Chasing Holidays off the ground and seeing people from not just this country but other countries as well, (Australia this year) and Ireland last few years witness Storms and Tornadoes with the Netweather Tours, again this grew slowly with 1 Car in 2007 with 3 guests, to 2 Cars in 2008 and the addition of Michael Fish chasing, last year saw 5 Tours and countless chase vehicles ferrying people on their holidays and all have had an amazing time (So we must be doing something right). Have built up great friendships over the past 10 years, met probably around 200 people off Netweather on various BBQ's, Curry Nights, Meet Ups, and Holidays ( See we are not all Internet Axe Murderers Lol) and hope too meet many more. Here's to the next 10 years! And by that time Trips to the Moon!
  7. I have a hunch this Season is going to be mostly East of the I-35 Corridoor, places like Iowa, Illinois, Missouri and Arkansas could be hit harder than recent years more especially the early part of May, expecting the Northern Plains to be a slow starter this year and not until June we start seeing the Dakotas come into play. Western Kansas and the Panhandles of Texas and Oklahoma, along with the Colorado Prairies could be another dustbowl in 2013! Looks a traditional Neutral year to me but if we can get a trend towards El Nino late winter into early spring then the above could change quite quickly! Paul S
  8. I bet its green here in the morning, nice try again CWT, Has been a very poor winter for your predictions, but keep at it, one will stick..........maybe
  9. The flakes are like massive soap suds at the moment, zero wind out there and it is just fluttering down, looks so serene out there. The trees boughs are very pretty at the moment all covered in white, looks like we were in the sweet spot on the radar, but dont know how much is left to come, a welcome bonus as we were told last night not to expect anything down here!
  10. The 5 Tick checklist rapidly getting covered Cars = Tick Roofs = Tick Shrubs = Tick Grass = Tick Roads = Getting there but side roads are nearly a Tick!
  11. Another stunning assessment from you Dave, Moderate to Heavy Settling snow here in the SE. - Keep em coming Please!
  12. Just a quick reminder it is just over 1 week until the Pre-Storm Chase Meet Up in Birmingham when all us nutty Stormchasers meet up Also if anyone lives near there, like the BBQ We would welcome anyone along so if your in Birmingham City Centre area say Hello! Not long now!
  13. What I would call proper snow showers now gathering just east of Felixstowe now, wind profiles further North into Angular look east north east but further south most definately North East. I am going to go with places just a tad further east than Maidstone for tonight, the good old Kent Slapper, Herne Bay, Ashford to Hastings jobby! Maidstone on the western edge, dover might just be in some action as well. Folkestone could do quite well also. Good luck guys in Kentishire!
  14. Beautiful at the moment though isnt it Patch of blue skies just to our South where the Sun is shining strongly away and a shower cloud overhead, beautiful snow with strong sunlight This is better than any of the snow events this whole winter Imho
  15. Wind is ENE @ 12mph gusting to 18mph Tom Actually just back to NE Now - Lol Temp is 0.2c Dewp is -2.6c
  16. Yep Was not expecting to see the Sunshine and Snow showers scenario, can see the sun behind the shower clouds, this is making the snow showers much heavier, having another heavy one now and the wind is quite strong as well No settling yet but first time this winter for the sunshine and snow shower scenario.
  17. Interesting developments down this end of the estuary now, can see Blue skies and shower clouds instead of just the Stratocumulus from this morning.
  18. And..................................Stopped Well its better than snow grains as some of the flakes are uite big, can only imagine about 3,000ft higher there is a snowfest, but this dry air could be creating problems drying out most of the snow. Will see what happens tonight then!
  19. Will be interesting to see what falls in the next 20 minutes here as the skies are very condusive to snow just to my North East at present, heads up all on the Essex Coast near Eastern and South East Essex next 20 mins. We shall see wether the next lot gets dryed out as it falls through the layers above
