  1. Dont think we need to worry about that yet, the really cold uppers are now digging in and the convergence between the WSW-ENE Frontal Band and the NE-SW Shower Train is perfect for the Estuary to brew showers at the moment. Loads more offshore and the sky is full of it!
  2. Flippin Eck Another Whiteout here, Just waiting for the Thundersnow tbh Nick F Said that by 6-9pm the Coldest Uppers of this Spell would have sunk south from the Northern Part of our region, this looks to be the case and we now have vigorous Convection ongoing with much bigger returns. The temp here dropped from -0.5 to -3c at about 4pm which turned all wet roads that had grit washed away into lethal ice sheets, numerous crashes have occured and now heavy snow is settling with ease on the Ice. Accumulations are building fast!
  3. Whereas just 5 miles to your East the grass has now dissapeared now One of the heaviest Showers of the day and Road Instantly covered and little bits of grass just left have now gone. Looking good!
  4. Incredibly Localised this, All I have to do is drive down towards Kent Elms, then down Westbourne Grove towards Chalkwell and it will be Snow Heaven, takes about 5 minutes in the Car
  5. Nothing here for 45 mins now, Pitch Black over towards Southend and from the Frontal Activity to my South, Beautiful Crimson Sunset just now to my West.
  6. Really impressive picking up the kids, the sustained winds were whipping the snow off the roofs and across the school playing fields, looked like some of those antarctic videos you see of snow just horizontally flying across the glaciers. Its no wonder there is not a lot on the ground with these winds. Temp is now starting to fall again down to -2c here, feel like temp is -9c
  7. They are here Greg! After a 5 minutes Lull, It is back and as heavy as about 10 minutes ago! Should be with you in Greenhithe Soon, Most impressive snow in terms of falling not settling of the winter. This winter has been not too bad now, gave it a 6/10 in February would now give it a firm 7/10 November = Snow Showers December = 3" Snow January = 6" Snow February = 3" Snow March = ??? Who knows Not often you get snow in the 5 months of Autumn/Winter/Spring here!
  8. Incredible Intensity here! 11/10 on the Murr Scale! Shrimper you must be getting this!!!
  9. Most impressive shower of the day, Whiteout Conditions and almost Blizzard like in the gusts On its way stopping at Basildon, Benfleet, Dartford with Love!
  10. It certainly is - Huge Snowstorm is ongoing and Totals are accumulating fast now! Thames Streamer 2013 Styleeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  11. Yes amazingly as Kentspur just said, the main shower train looks like it is London Bound, could be in the dry slot here in SE Essex, the main frontal band to the south is starting to pivot on its North Eastern Side which could become interesting this afternoon along the Thames Estuary and North Kent though for those missing out now!
  12. Well thats a first for me. Snow sliding off the conservatory is leading to the formation of huuuge Icicles. Never seen these form in the daytime before let alone in March!! Temperature at 8am was -0.9c and it is now plummeting even further!
  13. Pfft That one was in the "Must Try Much Harder" Category! Sorry to hear that Tom! Must be a nightmare working that late! Bloody Punters eh!
  14. Think the Shower Streamer is winning the battle against the Frontal Snow Steve tbh, could be an interesting 24 hours in favoured spots. Another Biggie about to deliver. Here she comes!
  15. I seriously hope Cheltenham is on tomorrow, have hundreds of pounds to be made on that event, heard they are putting the covers on tonight to protect the course as overnight temps are expected to plummet!
  16. Last 2 Showers have been the heaviest of the winter! Next one is lined up to strike! Loving it
  17. Not yet Jan, although some of the gusts have been trending more easterly http://www.southendweather.net/
  18. Sky is full of it so hours of this to come, quite distinctive bands of snow now on the radar, if you get under one of these snow could pile up quite quickly, either side just a dusting, nature of these types of events. Also amazing being so close to both snow threats, can almost see the frontal stuff to my south, but also loving the convective showers here.
  19. Quite a heavy shower this one, as above post says almost on Eddie Lizard Category, reckon in these convective showers winds are sustained at 20mph and gusting to 35-40mph at times. Heavier Snow now as I type
  20. Dusting of Cat Litter here this morning, but as other East Coast Inhabitants say, that wind is the main feature! Cutting
  21. Snow Showers really starting to get going now in SE essex. Wont be long now until we get some sort of covering I would have thought. Good Luck SEasterners!
  22. Certainly Will Quentin As I said in an earlier post, winter snowfalls will help with drought relief and should give us a much better Tornado Season with additional "Trapped" Moisture in the ground. http://www.accuweather.com/en/weather-news/blizzards-bring-drought-relief/7018596 Good article above!
