  1. BBC forecast on the tele for south east region yesterday evening was for mostly cloudy dull day with highs of 20-21c not as sunny or warm as Wednesday so far it is spot on.
  2. 23c and very pleasant here today wouldn't be surprised if we get 25/26c here on Friday.
  3. Exactly maybe we should ban any talk about winter and snow on 1st March...that will go down a treat on here.
  4. Only problem is it will awaken all the winter trolls from hibernation who will return and turn this forum into a shambles once again for a few months
  5. nothing here is ever going to come close to a Canadian winter not even 62-63 type season..so im really hoping for a dry mild winter for me..something like 89-90 would do if not then 91-92 would do just as well..as long as it doesn't constantly pour with rain.
  6. Point is its not about the BBQ its about the people and entertainment. I have been to some cracking parties masked as BBQs in past that have turned into all nighters
  7. 16.8c for me dry warm and sunny from start to finish.
  8. Similar thing happened when I lived in Calgary in August 2012..the temperature dropped from 30c to 12c in the space of 30 mins or so as a cold front swept through..but the weather stayed dry and sunny throughout.
  9. I find it interesting that looking at decadal trends over my lifetime every decade shows a slow warming trend apart from the 1990s which shows a marked increase and then back to a slow warming trend 2000-2010..also this decade so far is actually showing a marked cooling unless im reading it wrong?
  10. when I was living in Calgary my thermostat was set at 18c during the winter..was nice and toastie.
  11. really..just been outside no warmer than the rest of the week..in fact it has now clouded over with a bit of a cool breeze kicking up.
  12. why? just because the summer has been cool does not follow the winter will be another cold one? plus the area in question is a very very small portion of the NH
  13. Im quite enjoying August TBH..fresh and breezy a few heavy downpours in the mix and some cool nights its the kind of weather I missed when I was in Canada this weather does not happen over there.
  14. Similar in what way??..the last winter was very mild in the arctic basin if memory serves me right and if you look at the Temperature Graph for the region that Keith loves to post it tells the same story..an average winter would be good news for increased ice volumes and thickness me thinks...which might mean having a mild winter across more temperate areas of the northern hemisphere.
  15. Agreed..not sure why heat in summer and cold in winter = good and mild and cool = bad..after a long spell of very warm humid conditions in July I am finding August a refreshing change.
  16. why?...I seriously doubt I will be turning on my heating at all even in the depths of winter..didn't have to last time I lived in London.
  17. No I am in west London now at 26c so knocking on the door of 80f again.
  18. if I remember rightly the daylight hours reduces by something like 30 mins a week from now for a while...15 mins later sunrise and 15 mins earlier sunset.
  19. For the benefit of you hot and cold lovers you would go along way to beat these Canadian season I experienced. Spring 2010 - Had everything record breaking heat 31c in early May followed by snow 36 hrs later..alternating between hot and cold for 2 months then ended with big storms that followed on into a very stormy summer. Summer 2012 - 3 months of July, August & September wall to wall sunshine temperatures 28-34c on most days hottest 3 months on record in Calgary. Autumn 2010 - Beautiful warm 4 weeks during September and October followed by brutal cold and lots of snow in November. Winter 2011 - The mother of all winters very cold and extremely snowy..the snowiest winter in 40 years over 200cm of snow recorded..followed by the coldest March in 90 years ...March ave temp a bone chilling -10.7c. (Dec -15c, Jan -16c, Feb -16c)
  20. Still remarkably dry here..the rain forecast for Friday and the weekend missed me completely didn't even get a shower.
  21. August carries on where July left off yet another day where the temperature has exceeded 25c
