  1. Jeeez some true 2006 charts tonight for next weekend, 18z really is the dream run.
  2. http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/wm/shawbury_latest_weather.html 18.5c max here today compared with 23/24c down the road, was in Manchester though so cannot comment on the cloud sitch.
  3. Yes what on earth is this mystery blue stuff charging towards here, has hell actually frozen over?
  4. Yup as expected cloudy thus far today but fairly bright, clearer skies aren't to far west just need this front to get a move on east.
  5. Nah that one fizzled out and stayed north west of here, can't remember anything May 9th, 2007 & 2008 were both brilliant storm wise here, especially the funnel cloud event on June 19th 07.
  6. No need for the sarcasm, I haven't directed my rants at members just fed up of the constant last minute downgrades on the charts which despite the 'forecasts' will serve up a generally overcast weekend here yet again and the fact that this week yet again dissolved into another poor week after looking potentially decent just like next week is now doing.
  7. No storms here in YEARS now, to think this time last year as close as Lilleshall got smashed by those vicious storms but Telford had 2 rumbles of thunder and nothing. No overhead storms since late July 2008 now, there was a brief weaker one on 16th? April 2009 but only one flash of lightning so i'm disregarding that one.
  8. Yup i'm firmly expecting those usual reports of 20-21c and sunshine tomorrow whilst me and Summer of 95 sit under a veil of stratocumulus
  9. Absolute garbage, as usual last minute big fat downgrades to effect 'Sunny Shropshire's' weather whilst the rest of the Midlands basks in the warmth this weekend, that front which was meant to scrape across Scotland and Northern Ireland now suddenly is going to manage to bring grey skies tommorow afternoon here and 18c after being forecast 21/22c and sunny all week, and as for Sunday, well 23c, next laugh please, blatantly going to be a stratocumulus fest here with a wind direction like that. So done with this summer, and as for next weekend's heatwave, downgradezilla's on the way, the ECM's woke up to it already.
  10. Well I hate to say I was right all along about this weekend for here but BAM the last minute downgrades are now arriving bang on cue, first for tommorow which now has changed from 22c sunshine to 18c and grey, which means Sunday's downgrade is coming to a GFS near you soon, you've got to admire the consistency of Shropshire's luck really , and I was ready to admit defeat about preaching gloom for here this weekend.
  11. A truly grotty afternoon/evening, hovered around 11.5c-12.5c since around 1:30pm after peaking at 16.1c around noon. Definitely got to make the most of Saturday as I suspect the ECM is bang on for next week.
  12. Yup rain setting in here now to, light and patchy at the moment though.
  13. Yup charts back to normal this morning, weekend still up in the air, warmth looks a certainty at least now but with the wind direction sunshine amounts are questionable for us in Shropshire, rest of the region sunny and 22-24c though so get your barbecues at the ready!.
  14. http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Rmgfs454.gif 18z shown quite the change for Friday?? what the heck, 22/23c suddenly over us with the rain staying north east till late in the day?! must be an error?
  15. Luckily at least more sunny than yesterday here, especially this evening which has been lovely despite the coolness.
  16. 18.6c the max here today, still generally cloudy for most of the day but lovely and sunny now, if a little cool at 16.5c.
  17. Well i'm afraid it seems my 'doom and gloom' posts for the weekend are slowly becoming true, Saturday now, as expected 100% cloudcover and drizzle. Really so predictable and just watch the 06z take away Sunday to, why do these azores high NEVER trend northwards, always end up with a South East takes all scenario.
  18. Agreed ^ people really have to live in Shropshire to understand it, of course it seems like pessimistic moaning hearing reports of the gloom and doom whilst your all sat in the garden, meanwhile this is the scene here which its been since 12pm. At least its kind of bright today
  19. It's not negativity it's facts, i'd love to be proved wrong but after I know these charts to well by now, when has a warm spell ever upgraded in the short-medium timeframe since 2007??
  20. Still maintain that this weekend will be 19/20c and cloudy here, possibly drizzle to, charts have already kept digging the knife in further for Thursday & Friday, now looks wet and miserable Thursday and dull and damp Friday.
  21. I'm not so sure, 12z has already backtracked from the warmth majorly, hopefully i'll be wrong though as weve not got above 21.5c yet this year here.
  22. Generally cloudy today, some brief sunny spells but with temperatures scraping just 15c it's still feeling like late October, tommorow and Wednesday however much better with some warm sunny spells, after that is anyone's guess, might be the pessismist in me from years of it happening but something tells me that Azores high will end up staying south west after Wednesday with a dull murk fest weekend here whilst the south east gets 25c+.
  23. Truly horrific weather for the time of year today, 12.6c and drizzle, also like night time, such bizarre conditions this past week, really has been like mid December in terms of daylight.
  24. Often though in these setups Telford ends up being one of the few places that escapes the bad weather haha! not today though, truly October like out there, thank goodness the signs are for major improvements next week.
