  1. Same. I am not at all bothered by dark evenings, but I am not a huge fan of dark mornings. If we were to scrap BST or GMT then I'd much rather it be BST. There will still be plenty of daylight during the summer evenings, but it won't be dark at 9am either which is what would happen if GMT was to be scrapped.
  2. Hasn't been too bad here either despite pressure being below 1,000mb. Yes, July was much worse.
  3. Another settled evening despite an air pressure of just 989mb.
  4. Ah, back when thunderstorms were almost always a guarantee after a period of hot weather. Not anymore sadly.
  5. Pleasant enough today, but doesn't really feel like spring. Just feels like a pleasant autumn day. The weekness of the sun is still noticeable and the strength at the moment is equal to what it would be in mid February.
  6. Despite an air pressure of 997mb, it has actually turned out to be quite a pleasant day here with the sun out, and the rest of the week isn't looking that bad either for this neck of the woods.
  7. I think we are overdue a cold February now. Mother nature needs to be reminded that February is actually a winter month and not a spring month. As well as that, I find that springlike Februaries more often than not don't bode well for the true spring, when the weather is meant to be springlike.
  8. This October is turning out to be a rather varied month with something for everybody. Whether it is a last hurrah of summer you are after, cool crisp sunny days with foggy nights accompanied by a touch of frost or predominently unsettled with temps around average, this October had it. I so far rate this month as being 8/10. Some more sun would be nice, but it has been varied which as a weather enthusiast interests me.
  9. October 2023 is turning out to be quite a topsy turvy month. Warmer than average and some summer-like days all the way up until around the 14th, followed by a brief spell of cool and crisp sunny weather with frosty nights and then predominently unsettled with temps around average for what is looking like the remainder of the month.
  10. Oh me too. We are all children on the inside.
  11. I hate that. I also hate that the bed is always at its most comfy when it is time to get up.
  12. Whilst I enjoy the dark cosy evenings, I am not much of a fan of dark mornings as the darkness makes it more difficult to get out of bed. So if we are to scrap either GMT or BST I'd much rather scrap BST as I don't want it to still be dark at 9am. If not for finances, I can see myself living in a country with equal daylight and night hours all year round. Somewhere like Singapore maybe.
  13. I seem to be one of the very few people on here who loves the dark evenings.
  14. Hoping for a cold and sunny winter with a couple of snow events and the odd storm thrown in.
  15. To be fair, we could say the same about lengthy periods of heat. I enjoy summer heatwaves, but our country doesn't have the infrastructure for any kind of extreme, whether it is extreme heat or extreme cold. Instead, our infrastructure is designed for more benign weather conditions. Not that we often get lengthy periods of proper heat or cold in this country anyway.
  16. Last winter did well for sunny crisp frosty days, particularly the December. I would be very happy with a repeat but with some snow thrown in. I enjoyed the snow event last March, but it would have been much better during the winter.
  17. Kind of like me with spicy food. I love a good spicy curry. I feel the burn, but I have such a high tolerance to it and thus find it pleasurable and I keep wanting more.
  18. Well done on your new job. Starting a new job is a great feeling isn't it?
  19. 2023 will go down as being a year of having the right weather setups at the wrong times of the year.
