  1. There hasn't been a single flake of snow over here. But we have had the next best thing which is cold, sunny and frosty and is miles better than what we endured thoughout last month.
  2. I too am starting to notice the increasing light in the evenings, even more so with the sunny days we have been having.
  3. Hardly surprising really, given that February seems to be more like a spring month these days. It would be nice for once to have February as being the coldest month of the winter.
  4. Currently -4 here with a real feel of -8. With clear skies and 10 hours to go until sunrise, there is more than enough time for the temp to drop further.
  5. Another beautiful sunny and crisp winter's day, despite an air pressure of 992mb. I don't understand the moaning to be honest. Yes, snow would be good, but what we currently have is still miles better than what we had throughout last month. In the UK, sunshine can be hard to come by all year round, yet alone during winter. For that reason, sunshine is never boring. And it's dry.
  6. Am I the only person who is enjoying this current coldish spell? I agree that it would be more interesting if there was snow, but cold and sunny is the next best thing in winter if we can't get snow. I am also thankful that it is dry for a change after weeks of gloom which dominated throughout last month.
  7. Definitely not. Whilst cold spells are still very much possible and happen at some point in almost if not every single winter, what is considered as cold now was once considered as fairly mild. This current spell for example is on the cold side for today's standards. But 40 years ago nobody would have thought anything of it and would have just got on with it. With the way things are going, we'd be chasing frost let alone snow.
  8. No thanks. I will of course be wanting spring weather come early to mid March, but despite what many on here seem to believe, whilst being able to give us spring-like conditions February still isn't a spring month. It is a winter month just as much as August is a summer month. Not a fan of unseasonal months personally, whatever the time of year. I do appreciate that I am probably in a minority.
  9. I would be very happy with that. Particularly after last July.
  10. Exactly this. I am personally tired of hearing that old energy bills chestnut. What about having to use the lights more during those mild and dull spells? Or having your home flooded with water? Funny how those things hardly ever get mentioned. In regards to the energy bills, I haven't been using my heating any more than I have during the mild and wet December just gone. The sun being out makes a huge difference, even when it's cold. I like cold winters and I will never apologise or feel ashamed for it. Rant over.
  11. I am happy for the dry and cold weather to last up to March. Not that it's all that cold anyway. It's just normal winter weather and nothing like the cold spells we used to get during old school winters. Sure, snow would be nice but at least it's finally stopped raining. Just wear suitable clothing and you'll be fine.
  12. Overcast and slightly drizzly despite an air pressure of 1,039mb. Looks like anticyclonic gloom has taken hold.
  13. My ideal summer would be something like June 2023, July 2018 and August 2016, but with some thunderstorms thrown in. All were pleasant summer months with many warm or hot sunny days without feeling overly humid.
  14. Currently 16.3 Celsius in my bedroom without the heating on. Comfortable enough for me with a fleece on and we don't need the heating on at the moment anyway as my parents are in bed and I shall be too shortly. I have a nice toasty electric blanket.
  15. I am enjoying this cold (and sometimes sunny) and dry spell of weather. Whilst snow would be nice, this current spell is far more preferable to weeks on end of mild and wet dross. The air feels so fresh when the weather is like this and it's nice not getting drenched on my commute to and home from work. I'd be happy for these conditions to last for the remainder of the winter, and of course snow. But I shan't hold my hopes up too much.
  16. Very slowly starting to notice the evenings getting lighter.
  17. Currently 19.8 Celsius indoors with 46% humidity. Heating has been on for about half an hour.
  18. Nice to have some seasonal temps for a change. More sun would be nice, but for now I am just glad it's finally dry.
  19. Not sure why we are talking about summer during the height of winter, but here it goes anyway. I would be very happy with average summer temps providing it was calm and sunny. But more often than not, average temps means mostly cloudy at best. I like a good plume anyway with thunderstorms added to the mix, though just like with snow in winter thunderstorms are hard to come by these days. My preference is for dry heat over humid heat, but I'd take the humidity if it guarantees thunderstorms.
  20. And there will be that one person on here commenting that we need the rain.
  21. A nice toasty 22.2 Celsius upstairs. The heating has just been on for a couple of hours.
