Torrential rain/hail coming down over my work in central Stoke. -
Can't believe no-one was posting on here last night. Those storms were immense! Stoke-on-Trent Live have made no mention of it either. Very odd. Was it all a dream?! Another day of thundery showers ahead anyway.

Bullseye! Got be some flooding from this. It’s biblical! Frequent lightning too. Edit: More torrential rain, lightning and booming thunder now.

Met Office Flashy Boom Boom warning for the far west/north west of the region, including the Costa Del Stoke-on-Trent.

Saw one thunderstorm right overhead yesterday, which produced a rainbow as it approached. Then captured a photo of a shelf cloud from a thunderstorm that tracked just west of Stoke shortly after sunset. Sadly the thunderstorms have all missed Stoke today.

A very wet 24 hours or so coming up.

Sleeting in Stoke.

The Euro4 brings a line of snow showers across Stoke during the early hours of tomorrow. Could be interesting.

With things staying on the cold side next week, we could see some further sleet/snow showers.

Could be snow if the precipitation was heavier, but it keeps weakening as it approaches the Midlands. Welsh mountains killing it off!

Looks like it’s just raining or maybe sleeting. Hard to tell.

The rate it’s moving at, it should be here by 29th February 2021.

It will raise upper air temperatures and dew points just a touch but looks like things may just stay the right side of marginal. Going to be interesting!

It wasn’t predicted to be that far south. The Met Office regional forecast had been for it to be dry but they’ve now changed it to ‘rain clearing to wintry showers’.

Thanks to sea surfaces being at their coldest and warming cold airmasses less. Yet any snowfall in December and January settles more because the ground is colder.

Yeah. It stopped for a few moments but it’s now hammering down again. Snowed every day this week. An interesting end to otherwise boring winter.

Wow. Graupel has turned to heavy snow!

Just had a downpour of soft hail/graupel, and more showers approaching.

Moderate wet snow in Stoke.

Sleet has finally stopped. Now it’s raining.

Stoke is at higher elevation and further north into the colder air than the places reporting settling snow, yet all we get is sleet

F all in Stoke.

Woke earlier than intended, and we appear to have sleet/very wet snow. Hopefully it will turn more to proper snow as the precipitation gets heavier.
