Can't believe no-one was posting on here last night. Those storms were immense! Stoke-on-Trent Live have made no mention of it either. Very odd. Was it all a dream?!
Another day of thundery showers ahead anyway.
Saw one thunderstorm right overhead yesterday, which produced a rainbow as it approached. Then captured a photo of a shelf cloud from a thunderstorm that tracked just west of Stoke shortly after sunset.
Sadly the thunderstorms have all missed Stoke today.
It will raise upper air temperatures and dew points just a touch but looks like things may just stay the right side of marginal. Going to be interesting!
It wasn’t predicted to be that far south. The Met Office regional forecast had been for it to be dry but they’ve now changed it to ‘rain clearing to wintry showers’.
Thanks to sea surfaces being at their coldest and warming cold airmasses less. Yet any snowfall in December and January settles more because the ground is colder.
