  1. We've just had a pretty heavy wet snow shower too. The Meto weather warning looks promising for tonight for many in the west/central areas away from the coast. UK weather warnings WWW.METOFFICE.GOV.UK Met Office UK weather warnings for rain, snow, wind, fog and ice. Choose your location to keep up to date with local weather warnings.
  2. Pelting it down here now with huge flakes I'm moving slightly higher up the hill for next winter, looking forward to it! 20220206_101656.mp4
  3. Still a chance, it's getting colder here as we now have a dusting but the showers have been heavy.
  4. Some pretty heavy wet snow showers blowing through this morning but not really accumulating yet other than some slush on the car windscreens.
  5. Haha, winter was declared over already! New meto warnings out for snow over the weekend, they just cover here... P.s still snowing but it's melting at the same rate so a bit of a slushfest!
  6. Yep, coming down very heavy here now and lying. Meto text forecast has wintry showers for the rest of the day and then a band of snow moving in tomorrow morning although haven't looked at the charts for that yet 20220204_082101.mp4
  7. Do you need proof in order to get the next snow chase house move approved? this is the best I can do for now, but starting to get light and the snow/hail is back on!
  8. Ouch, sorry to hear that - just saw that on the BBC so at least you're famous! Good luck with the rebuild.
  9. I think they heard you as there is now a full weekend of wind warnings It's certainly a bit more exciting than endless low cloud and drizzle I guess!
  10. Covid is the running excuse for the next few years Snow is back on here, will see how much we get from this big shower before they start dieing off.
  11. I think its more that the snow came down quickly during peak travel time and has trained in on the same areas than due to total amounts. There's nothing the councils can do about that, roads were well treated around here last night and cleared between showers. People don't buy appropriate cars (e.g. There's a lot of RWD mercs stuck ) or go all season/winter tyres when they do so I think its more to do with that and the education around it, many on social media seem to think grit is like lava for example.
  12. Yep, the traffic Scotland website is struggling which is a good indication that a lot of people are having problems this morning!
  13. Traffic chaos around many parts of Glasgow and surrounding areas at the moment. Thought the met may have upgraded to Amber when I saw the radar this morning but I guess it wouldn't have made much difference really. Still snowing here but not adding too much to the totals since its wet and heavy and melting as fast as its falling. I hink we have 2-3 inches on the grass but hard to tell from the first floor flat.
  14. Everything is white here with moderate snow falling and the radar looks good for more! I think there's been a decent bit of melt since the heavy showers in the early hours as there's a deeper patch of snow left on the cars of about 2 inches which hasn't slid off. Nice to see winter again, even if it's only for a few hours. Cars are getting stuck on the M77 and there's snow all the way down to sea level in Glasgow and Ardrossan by the looks of the traffic cams.
  15. Very wet snow falling here now with slush on the car windscreens. Won't be staying up so will see what it's like early tomorrow!
  16. Some pretty beefy showers coming in now with hail mixed in which is the first sign that the colder air is beginning to dig in..
  17. Horizontal moderate sleet here, nice... hoping for some snow tonight/tomorrow morning but these set-ups are usually a bit dodgy coming in over a warm atlantic when the air isn't that cold and hidden warm sectors appear at short range!
  18. Still going a bit stronger here with the best snow of the day falling, but we're in the worst part of the front really. It often splits in half when it comes from this direction so doesn't look like it will last that long here but fingers crossed!
  19. Moderate to heavy snow at times blowing in the strong winds. Its nowhere near as wet anymore so suspect we'll get a bit of slush soon, lovely. Edit: grass, cars and pavements turning white
  20. Just rain/sleet here so far - a pretty miserable day! Edit - snow now!
  21. Not unexpected given the trend on snowfall forecasts over the last week (often happens early in the winter) , but the meto snow warning has been downgraded to a 200m+ event with transient snow to lower levels mentioned in the forecast. (although if you're on the southern uplands, amounts upgraded to 20cm possible!)
